Might as well revive a debate I was recently having with Balder while I'm at it, since this is the official thread for highlight everything wrong with the Star Wars Fandom. Balder It DOES have to do with this thread, since my OP mentioned how Genndy Tartakovsky fans stop at nothing to glorify him and suck him off, despite the fact that he's a disgrace to art, animation, & Star Wars. There's an unrelated point to the above that I would like to make right now. I want to clarify a problem I brought up about fan reaction to The Last Jedi: my problem wasn't that fans were going ape-shit over it and tearing it a new one. It's the fact that fans were spreading the most heinous rumors about the director (Rian Johnson) and Kathleen Kennedy that I have never been able to verify or even find much info on despite doing some digging; first there was the accusation that director Rian Johnson threw out George Lucas's plans for the original story for the film and made his own alterations to the script, THEN there was the rumor that Kathleen Kennedy expressed pleasure at longtime SW fans' disgust with the film, or something like that. I'm going off my memory with this stuff, but regardless, it's clear that Star Wars fans have lost all credibility after years of demonizing the prequels, George Lucas, the prequel actors, and now the sequel trilogy. I will never listen to these fans again anymore.

Normally I just ignore these no-talent flash cartoonists (unless they have been found guilty of crimes like sexual harassment or pedophilia), but when they are allowed to touch/desecrate a legendary work of art like Star Wars, that's when I get really fucking mad. Also, what do you or I know about samurai culture? Last I checked, you're not a weeaboo and I'm not japanese. Who's to say someone can't make better samurai animation than him? |

I would guess Star Wars fandom is full of the same kinds of people as Star Trek or Babylon 5 or any other kind of fandom. It’s full of FUCKING NERDS. I find that with Star Trek fans, they can admit to when a movie or series in the Star Trek franchise is bad but most Star Wars fans seem to follow typical bandwagons depending on the type of fans. You have one type that completely hates the prequels for silly reasons but loves episodes 7 and 8 while failing to acknowledge that episodes 7 and 8 have the same problems as the prequels and worse. They also fail to acknowledge the real problems with the prequels and also fail to see the good in them. Then you have the fans who only like the original trilogy and build their lives around them and are very nerdy. The only fans who seem to be able to give a good judgement on the franchise seem to be fans who aren't that fanatic about it. |

But it doesn't take a genius to realize that Tartakovsky's designs are wildly outclassed by a plethora of other modern artists, including animators. Just about every corner of the internet is filled to the brim with art that is more impressive than Genndy's, including Youtube. Even the worst production artwork for ANY of the feature-length Star Wars is still a million times more refined and detailed than his flat, sketchy crap, and should never be shown in the same room as it. I can't comment on samurai culture, but I can say for sure that his designs, animation, and cell-count have always been underwhelming. And obviously it's not like his designs for Samurai Jack are a deliberate throwback to the works of famous early japenese artists like Katsushika Hokusai, because both Dexter's Lab and The Clone Wars use the exact same visual style as Samurai Jack. If he had been the art director on the Star Wars films then the franchise would never have been remarkable to begin with. |

Since when have ratings ever been an indication of quality? Mainstream entertainment is often complete crap. Just look at Family Guy and Jerry Springer; they are two of the highest rated shows of all time and both are absolute garbage. Oh, and The Last Jedi was a box office smash that received rave reviews, but if I remember correctly you despise that film? Using your own logic against you will never cease being satisfying, Balder. I love how you always think your posts are backed by arguments, when in reality their just filled with this:
1. Average ratings is a great indicator to find out if something is of a certain quality.
2. Neither Family Guy nor especially Jerry Springer Show have great average ratings. People watching a show =/= good ratings
3. TLJ is a piece of shit and it does not have rave reviews that represent the average movie watcher. It's one of the lowest rated Star Wars movies.
I honestly think we should consider you a troll at this point Maestro and just delete your posts that are obviously looking for reactions instead of being actual discussions. At this point I don't think you're capable of posting any comment that people wouldn't disagree with.

You tend denounce most people who bash movies, shows, hardware or software you like as either haters or trolls; some examples I can think of off the top of my head include you denouncing a newbie poster on the previous WSP board in the Xbox sub-forum (can't remember his name) as a troll for bashing the Xbox One controller, then you slammed Armored Core Raven a few years back when he criticized Star Wars Battlefront 2, then there was the well documented case of you flipping shit when I made a thread comparing Final Fantasy The Spirits Within to The Incredibles, and now you recently denounce me as a troll for hating Tartakovsky's The Clone Wars. I'm NOT a troll, I just have some unpopular opinions. Either deal with it or GTFO, cuz this is getting annoying. |
