This week I would like to talk about the Star Wars Fandom. What do you think of it? Are you proud of the fandom or against it?
Please discuss.

I would guess Star Wars fandom is full of the same kinds of people as Star Trek or Babylon 5 or any other kind of fandom. It’s full of FUCKING NERDS.

I realized something recently: the Star wars fandom kinda sucks. In fact, it REALLY sucks. In fact, it's probably the single most toxic movie fandom in existence and I almost feel ashamed to be a part of it. I think the best way to sum up the Star Wars fandom in a nutshell is it's a bunch of whiners who are never satisfied, but I'm going to go into more detail on what personally bothers me the most about this fandom: -Original Trilogy snobs who shun the prequels and act like they're the worst thing in existence, refusing to acknowledge any good aspects about them. -Genndy Tartakovsky fanboys who act like the 2003 Clone Wars mini series is the holy grail of 2D animation and attack all Star Wars animation that wasn't directed by him (just look at how they reacted to the trailer for Star Wars Resistance: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bH_Ws7sA468)-The insanely negative reactions some longtime fans have towards The Last Jedi. Don't get me wrong, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being upset with a lousy sequel (I haven't seen it though I'm sure it's bad), but the ridiculous things some fans are saying about Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy proves what a bunch of lowlifes these fans are and how far-removed today's generation is from real life. -The enormous number of fans that blame George Lucas for destroying Jake Loyd's life just enrages me. Lloyd himself has repeatedly identified his mother as the cause for most of his personal tragedies throughout his life, like putting him in public school for example, where he was endlessly harassed. And I've never heard him say a single bad thing about George Lucas, so where the f#ck are all these fans getting the idea that any of this is Lucas' fault?? What a bunch of dumbasses. I know I probably sound like a hypocrite since I regularly cuss up a storm over shitty games like Super Paper Mario and Smash Bros Brawl, but as someone who's #1 concern in life is the environment it genuinely disturbs me to see some of these Star Wars fanboys dedicating their life to going on which hunts for movie directors and other figures of the entertainment industry over a shit film or two or an animated show that they perceive as inferior to Genndy Tartakovsky's, as if he's the master of animation or something. I'm just going to end this post by saying that I really feel these people need to get a life, for the betterment of society.

By the way, while The Last Jedi had some pretty lousy sequences and inconsistent characterization/story, I don't know what people found so offensively bad about it; in fact, I don't even think it's a terrible movie, all things considered.
...and Solo was frankly better than anything Marvel have been releasing in years, so I don't get why Marvel gets any praise while Star Wars gets a lot of shit thrown in its general direction.

TLJ is the most disappointing movie I have ever watched, only the Ratchet & Clank movie comes close. It sucks, but I cannot fathom that anyone liked that movie. I don't know if I can watch it again because I get angry just thinking about it.

Balder - Come on man, it's bad, very very bad, but not abysmally terrible as a lot of people make it out to be. It's not like we aren't used to seeing bad Star Wars stuff. But I'll defend that Solo was a very passable light-hearted flick. Unnecessary, but still ok. Rogue One was good, though.

Rogue One was good, though. I agree with this. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks that too.

I just remembered another reason why I despise the Star Wars fandom: The enormous number of fans who claim that George Lucas is responsible for ruining Jake Loyd's life. Lloyd himself has repeatedly identified his mother as the cause for most of his personal tragedies throughout his life, like putting him in public school for example, where he was endlessly harassed. And I've never once heard him say a single bad thing about George Lucas, so where the f#ck are all these fans getting the idea that any of this is Lucas' fault?? What a bunch of dumbasses.

Hasn't he said he hates Star Wars though? People called him Mannequin Skywalker when the movie came out. That's rough for a kid.

That's just film critics and insult comedians like Doug Walker being assholes. In the interviews I've seen of Jake he has spoken warmly of George Lucas.

Hey Balder , GTFO. We don't like your kind here. We don't want you here. Seriously, GTFO with your Genndy Tartakovsky's CLone Wars worship. As disappointing as the Disney sequel trilogy films may be, they still have a TRILLION times more effort and artistic prowess put into them than the 2D 2003 Clone Wars series had. The fact that you consider it more impressive than the sequel trilogy or (perhaps even?) the prequel trilogy is proof that you are a talentless, know-nothing LOLcow when it comes to art. Your opinion is a direct insult to the great prequel artist Doug Chiang, who could outdraw Genndy Tartakovsky in his sleep. Anyway, there are a few more things I've been meaning to say n regards to the Star Wars fandom for many months now: -About Jake Lloyd, even Mark Hamill acknowledges that George Lucas is not to blame for all the scrutiny and abuse that Lloyd faced during his life. Proof: There's a reason why celebs have bodyguards when they're out in public: to PROTECT THEM! Outside of Jake Lloyd I can't think of another case of a mainstream (former) child actor who was put in public school. I mean, The Phantom Menace was a HUGE hit at the box office (almost $1 billion when it was first released) and a major talking point for years afterwards, so literally everyone in America knew who Jake Lloyd was. Critics, the media and the general public have always had a track record for being absolute sadistic assholes in their treatment of child stars (just look at what happened to Justin Bieber), so his mother throwing him in public school was the equivilent of tossing a chub into a shark tank. I honestly think his POS mom should have child abuse charges brought against her. Even Lloyd himself has stated in interviews that public school ruined his life. So yeah, Balder is wrong about this too.

Could you stop harassing me Spirit Bomb? Again you come in guns blazing and attack me for liking a well-received show when I'm not even discussing that show anywhere in this thread. Do you think you're being funny or something? Because with my intuition it doesn't seem like anyone's laughing. Stop with your crusade now because I'm not going to give any satisfaction by mentioning all the things you are wrong in.
