1. You're allowed to criticize art regardless if you've studied art. Outlandish opinions will be criticized though. 2. Your opinions is not what's bothers me. It's when you criticize people with arguments that are just wrong. Like for instance when you misremember posts I wrote. God forbid someone have an unpopular opinion about something you like. I've noticed this about you Balder. You tend denounce most people who bash movies, shows, hardware or software you like as either haters or trolls; some examples I can think of off the top of my head include you denouncing a newbie poster on the previous WSP board in the Xbox sub-forum (can't remember his name) as a troll for bashing the Xbox One controller, then you slammed Armored Core Raven a few years back when he criticized Star Wars Battlefront 2, then there was the well documented case of you flipping shit when I made a thread comparing Final Fantasy The Spirits Within to The Incredibles, and now you recently denounce me as a troll for hating Tartakovsky's The Clone Wars. I'm NOT a troll, I just have some unpopular opinions. Either deal with it or GTFO, cuz this is getting annoying.

I honestly don't have the patience to come here every day to correct you. This will be my last post in this thread. For the last the last time: it has never been about difference in opinions, but rather the fact that you quote me on stuff that is false and you say that I have opinions that are also false. You twist my posts to conform to your narrative. I'm just going to let this thread go.

centipede Well I was planning on making other points anyway. Might as well revive a debate I was recently having with Balder while I'm at it, since this is the official thread for highlight everything wrong with the Star Wars Fandom. Balder It DOES have to do with this thread, since my OP mentioned how Genndy Tartakovsky fans stop at nothing to glorify him and suck him off, despite the fact that he's a disgrace to art, animation, & Star Wars. There's an unrelated point to the above that I would like to make right now. I want to clarify a problem I brought up about fan reaction to The Last Jedi: my problem wasn't that fans were going ape-shit over it and tearing it a new one. It's the fact that fans were spreading the most heinous rumors about the director (Rian Johnson) and Kathleen Kennedy that I have never been able to verify or even find much info on despite doing some digging; first there was the accusation that director Rian Johnson threw out George Lucas's plans for the original story for the film and made his own alterations to the script, THEN there was the rumor that Kathleen Kennedy expressed pleasure at longtime SW fans' disgust with the film, or something like that. I'm going off my memory with this stuff, but regardless, it's clear that Star Wars fans have lost all credibility after years of demonizing the prequels, George Lucas, the prequel actors, and now the sequel trilogy. I will never listen to these fans again anymore. I've never in my life met someone who hates Tartakovksy with a passion. All people I've ever discussed his work with has either ssid that they love it, or that they simply didn't care for it. He brings Samurai movie making into animation like no other filmmaker. (Also by Balder) : "I've watched a ton of samurai movies, and I can say with confidence that Tartakovsky has brought that genre to life again in animation with Samurai Jack." I've noticed that there's something Balder doesn't understand about animation. He seems to judge it based on how accurately it brings live action films/genres to life rather than what the quality of the character designs, backgrounds, level of detail & dimension are. As someone who had a lot of experience observing Tartavosky's animation as a youngster I can confirm that his art is not only uniformly underwhelming, but also essentially all the same. One example: just compare his design of Samurai Jack to the design of the professor from Powerpuff Girls, an earlier project that he worked on: His design of Jack is essentailly just a re-skin of the professor from that kid's cartoon, proving that he really is just a talentless, one-trick pony of a cartoonist, and that Samurai Jack's art direction was NOT a deliberate throwback to classic japanese expressionism. Some good examples of animation with visual designs that are deliberate throw back to classic art include Raggedy Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure, 1971's A Christmas Carol, and Madhouse's Metropolis. Samurai Jack's art direction is nowhere near that level of intelligence. This is proof that he was not worthy of working on Star Wars. His artwork in The Clone Wars was just the same as all his other crappy cartoons and was in no way a homage to/modeled after legendary Star Wars artists like Ralph McQuarrie or Doug Chiang, among others. The cutscenes in the N64 version of Shadows of the Empire are a much more faithful visual homage to the production designs by McQuarrie and Chiang (in fact, Doug Chiang actually designed some of the vehicles & scenery for the game). Still beautiful to behold and worthy of Star Wars:

You simply had an observation that the professor from The Powerpuff Girls look similar to Samurai Jack. Does that mean that he's a one trick pony? No, it doesn't prove jack shit. Samurai Jack and his take on The Clone Wars are both artistically unique and beautiful.
This is one of the coolest things that have ever been shown on Cartoon Network:
It's better than 99.99% of the stuff that has ever aired on Cartoon Network.

Sorry for the late reply. I've had a ton of fucking bullshit going on in my personal life lately, so I've been in far too pissy of a mood to bother responding to crap on the Wind Squid Pub. To answer your question, my profound hatred of him as an artist is due to a combination of him being a no-talent cartoonist who puts fuck-all effort into his character designs and the fact that he disgraced Star Wars with that pretentious sacrilege known as The Clone Wars mini-series. Normally I just ignore these no-talent flash cartoonists (unless they have been found guilty of crimes like sexual harassment or pedophilia), but when they are allowed to touch/desecrate a legendary work of art like Star Wars, that's when I get really fucking mad. Also, what do you or I know about samurai culture? Last I checked, you're not a weeaboo and I'm not japanese. Who's to say someone can't make better samurai animation than him? The only no-talent artist here is you. Show the world your artwork if you're so great. Instead you hide behind an ugly generated character. What in god's name makes you think that any artist needs your input in order to know whether their art is good or not? You're just a know-nothing kid when it comes to art. You've gone on record as saying that you hate realism. Even if I drew at Michelangelo's level or Alexander Petrov's level (which I don't, obviously), you would just denounce my art as inferior to Tartakovsky's cartoons and your own crude drawings. Christ, you're such a delusional, know-nothing loser Balder. And you can't blame me on this one since you brought my art into the debate. You have only yourself to blame.

"Star Wars fans are lesser beings."
Stage 3 of genocide as discussed by Genocide Watch is "dehumanization." An example given in every Junior High School of the third stage includes calling people, "Lesser Beings." Either this guy is a major troll, or he has serious issues. Either way, I do not believe this belongs in a laid back forum that is dedicated to an original YouTuber named Mark and classic video games.

I would have liked to organise this place and make it something more, but not enough interest.
