Why are the police in America so aggressive. I honestly can't believe how anyone can kill someone lile Floyd by "accident". Don't the police officers care about the repercussions? Asking because I don't get it. Why has the culture become like this? It's a generalization. Just like the protesters, there are good people, and trash, cops are in the same situation. A lot of it has to do with the protocols. Since the cops have to deal with trash, not civilized people, on a constant basis, the protocols tend to be more rigorous to protect cops from dying. The problem is that the line in those protocols is so fine, that it is incredibly easy to cross it, and once you cross it we are taking about the difference between a clean arrest, and people dying. That's it, if you understand the implications, and details of what I just said, that's exactly what happens, basically cops are constantly walking on a tie rope, and they can fall on the slightest blunder. Then again, not all cops are stupid, but it is easy for a stupid person to make everyone else look retarded if they belong to the same group. Just like the protesters that are a minority of people, yet a very small minority of people in a big city is still massive amounts of people, and if they are causing chaos they make the good protesters look just as stupid, even when they are not. On the same token, good protesters, can help some of the trash people to not look so trashy. It really goes both ways. There are very good people though, pacifists, smart people that don't do something just because they see another do it, people that can think for themselves, and they protest peacefully. Which it is something to applaud because many have been raised in the same circumstances of the criminals, yet they have principles, and values.

Years ago, it was the culture that police were "Peace Officers." Now change that up with today's "Law Enforcement." That is a very different philosophy.

Good points. But there is something more. Years ago, it was the culture that police were "Peace Officers." Now change that up with today's "Law Enforcement." That is a very different philosophy. Even with those changes, the reality is that crime is more ruthless today, more brutal, more careless, and more lethal, all of this caused by proxy wars in the past, and even more modern ones. People growing under those circumstances, traumatized, refugees emerging from various affected areas, that were assimilated in local communities, started to organize, and armed together a new dimension of crime. If we left the cops with old protocols, they would die, easily, so the way to handle this new dimension of crime had to be increased to prevent that, they couldn't just approach circumstances the same way they would approach crime in a classic peaceful suburb, and this changed everything. In the 70s and 60s cops became very violent for lack of protocols, so it can go both ways. The problem is that there is not a middle ground, if you lower protocols many cop families will be affected with all the dead cops, and if you keep them the way they are, it is still going to be easy for them to cross the line because crossing the line it is only one step away from what they are trained to do.

I'm not going to discuss American police culture with Americans, but thanks for your guys comments.
I know this protesting stuff is important right now, but I listened to am entertainment podcast today that said something I encapsulates my thoughts on the Black Lives Matter movement. Someone said that it's important to get angry and not let this rest. It's justified to destroy property and have riots when people aren't being listened to. This is something that absolutely breaks my own moral beliefs. I'm a big fan of ethical methods in achieving progress, not so much the end justifies the means. I think the destructive side effects of these protests undermine the whole movement especially when people behind it think it's justified. I can't believe I'm actually participating in a Maestro thread, but here I am.

I absolutely agree, violence just brings more violence, look at the difference between people uniting with cops on their knees, and those fighting the cops, the difference is night and day.
In the past, advancements in civil rights weren't achieved by the violent sides of the protests, which were present, instead they were achieved by the side of the protests that brought both sides together in unification, through prayer, dialogue, and common grounds.
That is the only way to make progress, uniting people, not fighting one against another.

Just look at Malcolm X and MLK. Malcolm X is virtually unknown to the general public outside of America. I learned about his existence last year. Everyone I asked had never heard about him. Now MLK is world famous and is taught in schools and shit. I had a discussion with an American on who was the more famous and influential, and they said they were equal, which I couldn't disagree more with.

I know this thread is mostly for discussing the particular movement, but this is also related. Lately, a lot of companies have started focusing on Black communities and giving these a lot of support, however, it's getting to the point where people and companies are fighting racism with racism. Why is it so that non-Black people can't voice Black characters? Is it so that people need to have the same ethnicity as their characters now? If so, only White people should portray White characters, only Indians should portray Indians, only Native Americans should portray Native Americans etc. It's fucking stupid. Reddit let go of a staff member and hired a new one because he was Black. That's downright racism and it's not only disgusting for non-Blacks, but it's also a huge insult to that employee and his race. Black communities are given so much money now by many companies and this isn't wrong in itself. It's great, but the problem is that not only Black people need support. I'm tired of reading shit like this every day now. It seems were getting more racist now than we were before.

It's a display of fake solidarity, made to look like they're doing good with someone, because sometimes appearing to do good is much easier than actually doing it. These upper class, out-of-touch twats either don't care or just don't know how. And by this logic of only same types to play certain roles, they should fire Nancy Cartwright and bring in an actual 10 year old boy to play Bart Simpson. It gets worse. I've seen footage of a rally where the speaker was telling the mostly white crowd to give ten bucks to a person-of-colour. Nah! These rioters are the ones who need to be coughing up dough for all the property and businesses they smashed!

If any of individuals of this movement had read these posts, they'd label us as racists in a heartbeat.

I was here this morning. That extra vote was me. I voted because...why not? It's not just white supremacists. It's also people who don't want to see all that civil progress undone. Progress made by people like Martin Luther King and even Frank Sinatra. Personally, if I was a KKK grand wizard, I'd love BLM. Who needs to recruit for the Klan when BLM is doing it for you by turning more whites against blacks? This hatred is like a scar: it takes 1 second to make a cut, but days for it to disappear totally. But only 1 second to pick the scar for it to bleed again. And these anti-white negros are opening old wounds that need to stay closed. Oh fuck it. I'm coming out as racist (or "racist" depending on how you look at it). Out of all the threads I made, this is the one that I regret the most. The amount of white-knighting I did for the sake of black people was just disgusting. I made this thread back during the Trump era, so my motivation for BlackLivesMatter was really just from my shared hatred of America's police agencies as well as all of the BlueLivesMatter conservatives like Cobretti, Scipio, Dschult, etc. Make no mistake about it, black americans are pieces of shit. Let me explain why. I have decided that I am completely against the BlackLivesMatter movement. I realized recently that I no longer prefer black people over white people. Both white americans and African americans are pure evil straight from hell. These are two of my most despised races right here. As an environmentalist and a feminist, I despise black americans because they advocate white genocide and (in many cases) toxic masculinity. Here are some examples: Big black jocks are always bullying the little white nerds in america, and the system lets them get away with it. It's disgusting. We I need to start calling them out for this. Let me ask: why are black people "cool"? Why is thug life "cool"? I decided to ask myself that the other day and couldn't come up with a good answer. Oh, and here's the real question: why should white women be denounced as racist just because they don't want to date black men? I would say that those white girls are making the right decision by saying no to white genocide. Yes, white genocide IS officially an issue: it's estimated that, in a worst-case scenario (i.e. the probable future), climate change will eventually make Africa so hot that it will become unlivable, which in turn will cause the majority of africans to become climate change refugees and emigrate to cooler parts of the Earth. And the most likely destination for them will be Europe, which means we can basically just wave the white race goodbye as we know it. Pure-bred white people will go extinct! As an environmentalist, I am against that. Oh, and my black ancestors? They were amoral pieces of shit. They let their kid experiment with sex and alcohol as a teenager and he grew up to become an alcoholic who was married 5 times. Black americans have no game plan. They do not have the answers. They are not "THE" victims. They are not progressive. White genocide is not "progress". I don't care if I hate most white people, I don't want to commit genocide against them just for the sake of white guilt. The native americans have always been the real victims, even today. African americans are not the victims anymore, at least not in the USA. In conclusion, I hate african americans because they are oversized & overbred (just like white people), plus the fact that they advocate white genocide. If I would have it my way, I would send all pure-bred white people back to Europe and all pure-bred black people back to africa, and the only people who would remain in the Americas would be american indians and mixed-race americans (i.e. me, Cervantes, Spider Shinobi, etc.). The mixed racers could stay on the condition that they wouldn't procreate so to allow the native americans to reclaim their land and rebuild their population. If I had the power to do this, I would make it happen. EDIT: for the sake of clarity, I changed my rating to 1/5 "strongly against this"
