Plus, you have the newest Analogue Mega SG that was just released. This is what kills it for me: if I'm going to buy a new Genesis, I'll want the best product around, and Analogue has pretty much perfected it - top of the line FPGA emulation with no lag, plenty of video and audio options and a real cartridge slot. I would've preferred if Sega had just made a deal with Analogue to turn it into an official product and backed it to make it cheaper, that would've been perfect. EDIT: M2 doing the emulation is a great thing, though. Maybe they'll even add some nice extras - I've played their 3DS releases and they offer some really good stuff.

The lack of the six button controller will make Mortal Kombat and/or Street Fighter suck if they are included though. There are people who swear by the TG-16 CD port, and that controller only had 2 buttons. Maybe it isn't that bad? (I've never played the Genesis version with 3 buttons.) Hmm...maybe. But I'd have to experience it to believe it. And I'm already not very good at fighting games so more complicated inputs because of less buttons would be a turn off for me lol.

I thought of that but with this being 40 games at an average of $2 a piece, I doubt they add any extras. I'm sure they will save that for the $8 solo SEGA AGES releases.

It's looking good: Armored Core Raven, it looks like the Japanese version may have the 6-button controller you're looking for. If that's the case, the Mega Drive version may be a nice option for those that want that.

We've got to get this outside of Japan!

Armored Core Raven thank you for so much value there. All those covers deserve a t-shirt. It is nice to have them all in one place. What an exciting release for the Sega Genesis latest iteration.

Armored Core Raven, that selection is indeed stellar. Sega knows what they are doing. And again, all those covers do deserve t-shirts. If I can't find them I'll probably end up making them myself with these images. Now I want that Darius poster on my wall as well. I may need to just do that too. This is beyond amazing.

Sega should deal already with whatever problems are holding them from publishing Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Even if they need to change the music (if that's the problem) they should just do it and call it a day. It's not like they never changed a game's soundtrack due to rights issues (Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio say hi).
That said, hey, look, it's Alisia Dragoon!! And Monster World 4!!! They are really going for it this time, aren't they? Very nice selection. Too bad they still insist on those games that are famously bad yet keep getting into these rereleases, like the Genesis' Virtua Fighter 2 port (I'll never understand why they insist on reminding us of the worst possible version of this game), Sonic Spinball, Altered Beast and a few others. Also, MUSHA being japanese exclusive is a punch to the nuts, it should be in every region.
That said, I'm very impressed at how far they went: there are many games from third parties that I was not expecting at all (Mega Man, Contra, Strider) and even licensed ones that I thought were impossible (Disney games). Quite frankly, it's even better than what Nintendo did for the NES/SNES mini. And since the emulation is being dealt by M2, then it's certainly good.
I would still prefer if they included an actual cartridge port, though.

I think it matches, and it is on par with the NES, and SNES Classics standard, at least the Japanese Mega Drive version that comes with M.U.S.H.A., plus having more titles is a better thing. This is something the PS Classic failed at, but I guess Sony knew people were planning to hack it anyway, so they didn't care much.

This is a great line up, but I've noticed that there aren't any of the iconic sports games. Is that an issue to anyone here? I remember that everyone who had a Genesis/MegaDrive would brag about their great sports game line up. I can understand why no one would want to work with the idiots over at EA, but Sega had other games available. Perhaps there are more licensing issues?
