Just added the mining industry to my list. We should just recycle our unwanted metals instead of plundering swaths of land to obtain more. Lol this is so ignorant it's almost not worth commenting. |

I want to add a few more industries I utterly despise to my list today:
-the shark fin soup industry, for putting the majority of the world's shark species at risk of extinction.
-the astroid mining industry (the only industry on my list that doesn't even exist yet), for having the potential to enable its CEOs to become dangerously powerful, all for a bunch of unnecessary metals. Plus the ridiculous carbon emissions it would create for an already failing atmosphere.
-the circumcision industry, for harming my body and making my life more difficult than it needs to be.

Another one I just remembered: the snowmobile industry. The carbon emissions snowmobiling creates are absolutely unacceptable and there's no reason why a recreational hobby which accounts for such a huge amount of per-capita greenhouse gas emissions should exist in today's world.

Another one I just remembered: the snowmobile industry. The carbon emissions snowmobiling creates are absolutely unacceptable and there's no reason why a recreational hobby which accounts for such a huge amount of per-capita greenhouse gas emissions should exist in today's world. Our highway department does such a bang-up job at clearing roads of snow that they are always snow-free in no less than 24 hours after a snow storm. Plus, snowmobiles aren't legal on public roads here, so there's literally no purpose for them outside of recreation. Another failed attempt at shooting down my arguments, Balder. Nice try. Our highway department does such a bang-up job at clearing roads of snow that they are always snow-free in no less than 24 hours after a snow storm. Therefore if a snowmobile ban were to go into effect, I think the laplanders should still be legally allowed to use them, similar to how North America's eskimo population is still legally allowed to hunt whales in the north. I have absolutely nothing against giving disadvantaged minority ethnic groups like eskimos and laplanders (among others) special privileges. But again, that accounts for probably less than .01% of the northern hemisphere's human population, so my argument still stands. |
