A new Dune movie is now in the making. According to sources it will be part one of two movies and like the classic 1984 film they will be based on the original 1965 novel following the story of Paul Atreides on the desert planet Arrakis also known as Dune. more info: www.imdb.com/title/tt1160419/https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1160419/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dune_(2020_film)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dune_(2020_film)

I like the 1984 movie and the TV series was good. I hope this new duo of movies will not tarnish the legacy of Dune.

Denise Villenueve made a sequel to Blade Runner, which I thought was impossible not to fuck up. He'll manage this one alright.

Balder - Is Denis Villeneuve attached? Then my expectations are high. He also directed Arrival, so the dude knows how to do a great sci-fi. I also thought Blade Runner 2049 was guaranteed to be bad, and yet turned out to be one of my all time favorite sequels (on a side note, the short movies are also awesome, especially the animated one made by the director of Cowboy Bebop).

He's the frickin director dude! He alone makes believe in this project. He made the impossible movie that is Blade Runner 2049. As for the Blade Runner shorts, I found them to be kind of meh. They do show some additional stuff, but the two live action shorts just feel like deleted scenes to me.

I'm a bit of an outsider on this one. I haven't read the book, and I thought the movie was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. The new trailer didn't really have me excited either. I'm going to give it a chance though, because so many people say that the original movie was flawed, yet there was so much more they could have done.

I haven't seen the David Lynch adaptation yet, but I own it. Lynch hates it himself because he feels like he sold out and since it wasn't well-received he felt like that movie died twice. Still want to watch it though.

My mom liked it and read the book many moons ago. Plus Dune gave the world one of the first RTS's too.
