The PS4 controller is nearly perfect; I find it hard to go back to the PS3 for other games because of it.

@player1 have you tried the Xbox One controller? They perfected what was almost perfect, it is truly (for me at least, the best 1st party controller ever made, especially the elite controller, which is super expensive, but I've tried it at a friend's house). There exist great titles on 8th gen. They give away 2 games each month for gold members, and they are in fact really good media machines in general (no need for a blu ray player/Apple TV box-thingy).

YOOOOOOO! Listen up here's a story about a little guy that lives in a blue world and all day and all night and everything he sees is just blue like him inside and outside, blue his house with a blue little window and a blue Corvette and everything is blue for him, and himself and everybody around cause he ain't got nobody to listen: I'M BLUE DA BA DEE DA BA DIE DA BA DEE DA BA DIE DA BA DEE DA BA DIE DA BA DEE DA BA DIE DA BA DEE DA BA DIE DA BA DEE DA BA DIE DA BA DEE DA BA DIE!
Just my 2 cents.

Controllers are fine, but games are better, and I personally don't give a crap about a media player since that's not why I buy video game machines. As for games, it depends on your definition of "great." No game for the two has been released which has received rave reviews/universal acclaim the way say, Mario (released in the 2nd year of the NES's life cycle), Sonic (2nd year), Chrono Trigger (late release), Panzer Dragoon (1st year), Zelda: OoT (2nd year), Shenmue (1st year), Halo (1st year), Shadow of the Colossus (late release) or Uncharted (2nd year) etc. etc. were.
Let's do a further comparison to past generations: one of the greatest games of all time, Metal Gear Solid (which was like absolutely nothing else available at the time and (re-)started an entire franchise) was released by the 3rd year of the PS1's lifecycle. It's now been almost two-and-a-half years since the PS4 was released...and were nowhere close to even something technically impressive like NiGHTS into Dreams (2nd year) was at the time. What about great launch titles like Star Wars: Rogue Leader, Soul Calibur, Tetris or Castlevania: Circle of the Moon? If No Man's Sky isn't good and The Last Guardian becomes vapourware, what exactly are we supposed to be waiting for?
@spidershinbi: LOL. You remember that song too!

Bloodborne and Killer Instinct, Rocket League and many more. Plus, there, you said it yourself. It sounds like you're pissed that they don't cater to your taste, more than anything.

I hate the ps4 controller. I'm in the minority here but I think its a triceratops turd covered in cement. I hate change in my controllers. No I just hate change in general screw it. I felt so much more into my games when I had the ps3 controller.

@fsfsxiii: another Souls game, an revival sequel (not bad, but not great) and a soccer game with cars. That's the best you can do? Really? How do they even compare to the timeless *variety* of titles I just named? As for taste, I don't even like Halo, but it's universally recognized as a decent launch title. Do you really believe those three will stand out in 20 or 30 years time and someone will say: THAT'S why I bought a PS4!

I'd say a Rpg, a technical sports game, and a fighting game does provide variety. One problem with them being timeless is that they are new.

@player1 you never stated anything about sequels, you simply stated rave reviews and high acclaim, most of all these games are incredibly fun, especially rocket league, it trumps whatever nintendo has been doing since Mario galaxy. Those aren't my personal picks, but whats wrong with saying that these consoles just don't appeal to you, and end it there? Because frankly playing the same tape over how you're right and how 50million people were ripped off by buying these consoles is getting old. Because generally, the problems you addressed, aren't exclusive to these consoles, they're all over the industry and have been there for the past 10 years. in 20 or 30 years i won't be around to bitch about a piece of plastic, because i'm gonna be enjoying what they have to offer, unless they stop catering to me, thats when i'll move on to something different.

Totally agree with fsfsxii, @player1 you just don't want to like the new consoles. Whatever they produce, you are going to hate it. And btw Super Mario Bros is a fucking sequel. And I would argue The Witcher 3 and Rocket League has got recognition just like Super Mario Bros and Sonic. And even if you don't give a shit about media hubs, you can't just scoff that off. It's a big positive side with the new consoles.

You can use your PS4 controller on the PS3 Just add it in the settings as a bluetooth device @fsfsxiii: [...] a soccer game with cars. That's the best you can do? Really? @player1 [rocket league] trumps whatever nintendo has been doing since Mario galaxy. Alright, I get that we're having a serious generational disagreement here, but let's at least be fair. Rocket League is good and Nintendo still makes good games.

I've been away for a few weeks, and now that I come back here I see you guys haven't exactly had intelligent discussions in this period. Not that there's a problem in discussing dumb things, but it doesn't look good that most of you are acting like this discussion is intelligent. For example, right here in this page someone dissed a Souls game... Look, the levels of brain damage going on right now are too high for a regular, non-youtube comment section discussion to go on. I don't know any reason to insist, this is a waste.
