Man, 2020 has been another HORRIBLE, record-bad year for wildfires in all parts of the world. California saw some of the worst fires on record, considered unusually bad even for the state, which is known for regular wildfires, while Siberia has seen abnormal freak-wildfires raging across its forests these last two summers.
I've heard that scientists have predicted that, if global warming continues on its current trend, Northern California will become too dry in the future to support temperate rainforests, meaning that redwoods (and possibly sequoias too) will go extinct.
Considering that it's always been my dream to personally visit the redwood forests in the northern corner of the state, this is just devastatingly heart-breaking for me, to say the least.
