I honestly don't know anyone who owns a UHD player. Besides the visual upgrade, are there more benefits to owning the more expensive discs? Do you get more bonus features? Are the discs more durable? Well, on most movies released after 2000 there is no much difference between the Full HD regular 1080p Blu-Ray version and the 4K UHD version. The difference is very small, and if someone already has the Blu-Ray version I don't think upgrading to the UHD has any significant benefits. In fact, I believe often they are missing out on the special features that the Blu-Ray versions usually come with, and that the UHD versions lack. However on movies before the 2000s the upgrade is insanely significant. I was watching this movie with Martin Sheen, Marlon Brando, Dennis Hopper, Robert Duvall, Harrison Ford, and holy shit what a mind blowing difference UHD makes. It's basically like going back in time and seeing those actors young as if you were living in the 70s with them. It is a massive upgrade, and I highly recommend the UHD version for those older movies. The way I heard they restore the films is that they remaster them on 4K making them completely clean, and then they add the grain on the scenes that require it to not lose that initial intention of the films. The result is incredible, it is a sight to behold, and it gives a new appreciation to these movies. It certainly feels like a whole new experience for sure. You know the movie is older because Laurence Fishburne, Morpheus from The Matrix, looks so young, but otherwise you think you are living in that era. It's pretty crazy. Not to mention they are releasing these movies with Atmos and with excellent surround sound. So these movies not only look amazing now, they also sound Incredible on modern home theaters. It is totally worth it to upgrade on those. I highly recommend it. It is also very exciting because that catalog is so massive, and I can't wait to see more movies from those decades getting that amazing treatment. This guy's explanation about it is pretty solid:

^^The Ralph Bashki version of Lord of the Rings. ^^ Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters Beyond Re-Animator That one was interesting, but very "70s." Tell me about it! Lots of really odd colour choices and inconsistent art styles. Oh, and it wasn't even the full trilogy. It's like it was expecting a sequel. wtf Anyway, I was surprised to see a Lifeline Bookfest today. I got: - The Odyssey (based on the Greek story) - Network ("mad as hell") - Monkey Vol. 13 (so I got all the dubbed episodes now)

I bought Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I was compelled to see it all the way through to the end and ended up staying up late.
Also got Stan Lee's Mighty 7. It had Stan Lee playing as himself, constantly going on how he's going to make them (aliens that look human) comic book heroes. It was meh.
And this is hwy I like thrift shopping.
