This week, the all-electric microcar I want to bring to the pub's attention is the remarkable little green machine from China aptly named the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV    The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV is a chinese micro EV that seats four. It features a motor producing approximately 17 HP with a top speed of 62 MPH (= to ? KPH) and has a maximum range of 110 miles (= to ? kilometers) on a full charge. It is noteworthy for being China's most affordable EV as of 2021, with a base price of just $4,162. What do you guys think of it? Does anyone here want one? Discuss! |

I wouldn't touch one of those things with a 10 foot pole. I'd be embarrassed to be seen in this thing. I get better range and top speed out of my current car. Not to mention hopefully within the next month or two maybe three even I will have my dream car plus it will be a manual transmission which is way more fun to drive.

Might be good for mums driving kids around, and the car size would be good for getting around cities, but even with four seats it's going to be cramped. But in cities, I wouldn't want to be drivign much anyway. I think I'd rather have Mr Bean's mini for the novelty.  AS for what I want to buy, I was going to get a ute with a tray large enough for me to sleep in, so I can take it camping. Ideally, it would be something like this:  But I'm on a budget, so I'm looking into something second hand. And a lot of the utes look more like this:  I'm hoping to get a trayless. I wonder if I can trick my truck somehow. |

I've been told to basically steer clear of anything made in China. Don't know about cars but this is certainly true with motorbikes. About ten years ago here in the UK some garages even refused to take Chinese motorbikes in for a fix. Don't know if the quality has changed over the years but most bikers I know still refuse to even mention chines bikes. |

A Toyota Hilux is a reasonable and enjoyable car. Reliability, but with style. Damn near unbreakable too. |

You have good taste my friend. The one on the picture is a 2021 Tacoma SR5. I really like how they look on black. I would also add tinted windows, and maybe some roof lights too.

Sigh, too many conservatives on these boards.
Personally speaking, the Hongguang Mini EV is currently near the very top of my car wishlist, if not my single most desired car right now. I would KILL to get my hands on one of these little bad boys! For a single environmentalist like me, this car would be PERFECT for commuting around the midwest. All of the EVs here in America are not only way out of my price range, but are also way oversized for my liking, especially the shitty, overrated, overpriced Teslas. I detest those things. Give me a Wuling Mini over a Tesla any day.
