I haven't seen Interstellar but I give it a 1/5 because it probably glamorizes space colonization just like other sci-fi shit like Star Wars, and I despise the space colonization industry with a red-hot burning passion, so therefore I despise this film.

No. EARTH is Bliss. Why would anyone want to throw all that away in favor of crusty space colonies on an uninhabitable wasteland like Mars? You're such an idiot, Scipeabrain.

MeleeMaestro and discussing movies is like taking a shit in the shower. Sure, it's definitely possible for it go over somewhat well, but why on Earth would that ever be a good idea?

Then again, you also believe there are people who want to turn Earth into Cybertron.

One of my favorite parts of the movie are the ice clouds that remind me of so many shmup levels, particularly Gradius, Parodius, Salamander, Scramble, and Super Cobra. I thought that was very cool. The movie is outstanding all the way through in the thrilling suspense sense of the world, but I was disappointed with the ending, not quite the brainy resolution I was expecting, just future people doesn't sound as interesting. Which it is not the first time it happens with these kind of movies. I had a similar experience with 1968 Stanley Kubrick's Space Odyssey 2001, that had the exact same feeling throughout the movie, but was disappointed at the end with the mushroom stuff. The cast was definitely appropriate for the film, and the sound effects were outstanding. That spaceship lift up made my home theater feel like my house was lifting up just from the vibration alone, and I have no D-Box, it is straight up the bass and sound creating that feeling. Christopher Nolan has many films I like more than this one, but I still give it a solid 9.1 because it wasn't a let down for me despite the ending, and I was left inspired too, which is the whole purpose of watching films like this.

This movie definitely didn't come off as pretentious. It looked at the emotional cost of being so far away, and it being one of the sacrifices in the name of scientific advancement. The crew were far away from Earth so they had to make every moment count.

Yes, that's 100% correct. And I stand by that statement. I have good reason to believe that is true. On one hand, I've observed many locals who are ignorant towards human overpopulation's negative impact on habitat encroachment and manmade climate change. Take some of our pub-goers for example. A perfect example of ignorance in the form of local color is when Stratogustav and Balder actually stated that they want Earth's population to reach at least 12 billion people! It was in this thread, first page: classicgameroom.freeforums.net/thread/1201/film-director-topic-james-cameron?page=1Those ignorant jarheads! I especially remember this section posted by Balder: "12 billion people are a lot of fucking people, and while that is bad, it won't end the human race. Yes some compromises might be needed, but technology will prevail. Did you know that education is the no. 1 factor that prevents births? So when education becomes more standard in 3rd world countries, the issue will solve itself. There's no need to worry about overpopulation, worry about more serious things instead. Try to cut down the amount of plastic you use, get an electric car, recycle, just don't spend all your day worrying about something that will probably (most likely) be solved a generation or two after your dead. And don't worry about having a kid someday if you want." -Balder That is a classic example of the "Meh, I'll have someone else clean up my mess" kind of attitude. Dumping your problems onto the youngest generation for them to figure out how to deal with. What an asshole. Very lazy, too. Such an embarrassing example of a first world citizen. On the other hand, I've got the world the news on my side. Take a look at this article here: www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/human-made-materials-may-now-outweigh-all-living-things-on-earth-report-finds/ar-BB1bMoCL?ocid=uxbndlbing(not sure if link works anymore; it used to work, but now it just redirects me to MSN's homepage ) the article stated that about a year ago, for the first time in history all manmade objects (cement, plastic, metals, etc.) on Earth collectively outweighed all organic/natural material combined on Earth. That indicates that a significant percentages of many countries' populations likes americans, australians, canadians, indonesians, etc. truly are ignorant towards the cataclysm that is human overpopulation and how it is progressively turning Earth into a concrete dystopia. The good news is that, little did humans expect that the synthetic materials they use on a daily basis for everyday living are slowly sterilizing the entire human race on a global level! HA HA HA! Pollution is giving us a taste of our own medicine! Mankind has gone from eradicating wildlife to unintentionally eradicating themselves. Poetic justice. This just goes to show that we can't keep relying on unsustainable products like fossil fuels and palm oil forever, because even if it wasn't finite it would still destroy us eventually.

All these articles are just feeding your mania. Disconnect!
And in the developed countries, the birth rates low.
South Koreans, in particular, are projected to be EXTINCT by 2050 with the current rate. The ones I know like it better here in Australia. Less pressure to succeed, not as much pollution (much of the smog from China). In Japan, it might be a problem. People refuse to move from the cities to the countryside, which is crying out for new people. Their work culture is similar to Korea's and they won't take migrant workers.
Australia, on the other hand, doesn't care. They can always import more people, especially the more exploitable peoples.
The point is, the Earth is not going to get cyberformed like Cybertron!
