Nice choice my man, was waiting for an FPS to get on game of the week. Where do I start with this one. I love everything about the design and art style of the classic Doom games. The music was amazing, even if a lot of tracks were straight up ripped from metal songs. Also, the soundtrack for the 3DO version was the best. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QZWWKZ6OtgI love how episode 3 started off. The first two episodes involved mainly Mars and the moon, but episode 3 started in Hell. The floor was made out of organs, the sky was blood red, and mouth for war was playing in the background. You could tell that the game wasn't fucking around anymore (even if the stage itself was pretty easy now that I look back). I've been getting into some megaWADs lately. I was working through Return to Saturn EP1 a few weeks ago before I got sidetracked. I was having a lot of fun with it though and I love the soundtrack and the level asthetics.

Dan E. Kool is ModeratorNumber2 sleeping on the job? I see you are the publisher. Just kidding by the way. About the topic, alongside with Quake, and Wolfenstein I always pictured the Doom franchise as PC only, which is why I will only jump into the new ones when I can have a better PC that is not big in size, but as of right now the technology is not there yet. Although the new Xbox One Slim has HDR, a feauture I'm not fully taking advantage of on my TV, so I was considering getting that for now to play all these new games. Since many of these games are getting reboots and sequels with very good reviews. For some weird reason it doesn't feel right to play them on PlayStation, it is almost like insulting them. Which is exactly how I used to feel with Sonic on Nintendo Platforms, but I already moved on from that.

I played my brother's SNES version the most, but I never got up to the part where you found the BFG. I got as far as Mt. Erebus.
Doom 3 was dark and scary, but the AI could've been better.
Doom 4 makes the Brutal Doom mod like vanilla Doom.

Scrubs, i vanish for 8 days and you skip my turn!!! DOOM is amazing, what a visceral experience, even though i only played it recently on newer home systems, i can see why people love this game so much. Is DOOM 3 considered survival horror? because its really scary and tense.

Love it on 32X, PSX and Xbox (via Doom 3 Resurrection of Evil) and also enjoy it on Game Boy Advance and PC (as long as I get to run it through Doom Legacy or ZDoom with some enhancements activated).
Great franchise overall, only game I haven't liked so far is the 2016 2nd reboot with the unoriginal as shit name.

Dat soundtrack! 5/5
I haven't really played much of any installment, but what I played of 1 & 2 was awesome. Everything about them impressed me as a kid/teenager.

Armored Core Raven It was originally going to be Doom 4, but something happened and the game was totally remade.

centipede I know. Doom 4 originally didn't look much better though, it reminded me of Quake 4 which I also didn't like very much. Only good thing about Quake 4 was that the original release on Xbox 360 came with a bonus disc that contained Quake 2 which remains the best console port of the original PC version of Quake 2 to date, though I still prefer the PSX version of Quake 2 as it enhanced the game a bit over the PC original.

Sorry to be gone for more than 12 hours (I've started working again and it's eating up all my time), but I'm here to clear things up: This week was supposed to be fsfsxii's turn but since he didn't reply to my message; I also messaged Dan E. Kool just in case. Well at Tuesday (the day I post the new thread), nobody had given me a title. So instead of creating a new topic I decided to wait another day. And all of a sudden Dan E. Kool jumps the gun. It's easier if people just reply with the game they want, then I can make the threads and sticky/unsticky them right away and keep all the extra details like Publisher, year etc. But sure if people rather want to create game discussions of the week without any form of organization, go ahead, but I won't be keeping track and moderate them.

Yeah Balder no pressure, we were just busting your balls, we like seeing you fight with Dan E. Kool who is acting very like a rebellious anarchist to you, we were not serious. Congrats on the new job.
