I'm going for an achievement in the Master Chief Collection which is to play all of the campaigns from CE, 2, 3 and 4 consecutively. I marathoned Halo 2 today, and I have to say: Halo 2's campaign is actually more fun than CE's. A lot of the missions I used to hate such as The Arbiter,The Oracle, Sacred Icon, Quarantine Zone and Gravemind, ended up being great. CE on the other hand, reminded me of how much I hate missions like Two Betrayals and Keyes. I still love CE's campaign, but I think I now prefer Halo 2's.

I think of the game as a tittle that a lot of people liked, and that they say that it revolutionized a lot of things for the genre on consoles, which made it very influential. I haven't played it, but if so many people say these things it must carry some truth. The same goes for games like Portal and Half Life 2 that I haven't played them either.

So you weren't bothered by the fact that 75% of the campaign was a corridor shooter? Or that the outdoor sections are still nowhere near as large as CE's? Or that it has an underwhelming climax? |
