First try? That's awesome! I appreciate the offer If you can do it on Extreme in 19 hours I still don't understand why not the Platinum, for Snake Eater or any other Metal Gear for that matter. If you are that good it is a no brainer! By the way I just ordered Ikagura for the Game Cube to play on my Wii. Thanks to you now I know that version exists. I'm looking forward to play it with my arcade stick. I can attach a PS2 port to my arcade stick, so thanks to my PS2 port Game Cube adapter I will be able to use it.

@gustav Oh, so you will order Ikaruga but not Twin Snakes?... lol It's OK, from Treasure - the same fellers that made Gradius V. It's a really simple game - all you do is shoot, change color, and fire missiles. That's it... But there's just something that's just so addictively elegant & masterful about it... Tough as balls (can't even get past stage 3)... But the music is just fantastic. Even so, I'll still take Twin Snakes over it anyday.('cause I'm a man that lives up to the legend! ) Btw Remember, You have just about 7 hours left to either beat my score in Gradius V, or complete Snake Eater to win $1000 over 50 years!! Time limit expires 10:34am ET/7:34amPT! (If there are no takers, I might put the challenge up again, but it will be a different score from a different game... It maybe harder this time! )
@teddy I've never played Kirby, so I don't know if that's good or not... Try putting up one from Lightening Force! Here's a tip - You can get the picture to appear in its original size by copying the attachment thumb's link and using that directly as an image link. As long as you have the link, it doesn't matter what thread you initially uploaded the picture to.

leaon79s I just realized they are both the same price. For a second I thought Ikagura was cheaper. Still though, $150 is what one would think a console should cost. It looks like I'm not going to make it to the deadline because I'm not even home right now. It was fun to give it a try in Gradius V but you are too good. I will keep on trying even after the deal is off. I haven't received Ikagura yet. I wonder how much is Radiant Silvergun at this point. PlayStation should buy the rights of Bangai-O Missile Fury, but I doubt that would ever happen. You write so funny though. I have to give you credit for that. I'll beat Snake Eater but I'm sure it will take me more than 19 hours, specially after fixing all those wounds, what a process. Is Treasure an internal studio of Konami? I keep getting them confusing with Treyarch.

I'm not faimliar with Treyarch myself (aren't they that US FPS developer... lol), but Treasure is for all intents and purposes, the greatest 2D shooter developer there is if top 10 lists are to be believed. As their big 3 -Radiant Silvergun, Ikaruga, & Gradius V- are mainstays of pretty much all those lists, with Ikaruga getting the #1 or #2 spot in pretty much all the ones that I've seen. One of the main reasons I got it. Whether or not it actually lives up to the praise is another story though... My personal favorite, Thunder Force IV, by contrast only made it to one of those lists, and even then at #6... They were founded by ex Konami staff apparently, but not really affiliated with them it would seem. Btw, don't forget that you will need a Gamecube controller or Wavebird to play GC games on the Wii. I'm only saying so because I didn't remember myself and ended up buying a Wavebird off eBay just to play Baten Kaitos...

Wow it looks that all those people have good taste for games.
I'm planning to use my arcade stick to play the GameCube version of Ikagura. So far it works fine with other Game Cube controller compatible games.
They still haven't shipped it, I just checked. They say it may come on August 22. I hope they still have the copy and it is not one of those cases where they kept posted something that is already gone.

Treasure also made Gunstar Heroes, Astro Boy: Omega Factor, Sin and Punishment, Dynamite Heady, Wario World, etc. They make a lot of good stuff.
Hmmmmm.....guess I'll try and remember to try and submit some kind of high score to this. I just clicked this thread, had been thinking it was the Space Gar leaderboards or something from the old CGR site.

I'm planning to use my arcade stick to play it. So far it works fine with other Game Cube controller compatible games. Oh yeah, just remembered that picture you showed above (fewl that I am)... I have that very same adapter actually (or something nearly identical)... But it didn't last long. Wanted to use my PS2 wireless controller with my Wii/Gamecube but it couldn't receive the controller input. Wonder why... I un'nou whether it's a compatibility thing since my controller is wireless, or if it's really dysfunctional. Bought it because I wanted to be spared from having to get a Wavebird (not cheap mind you...), but ended up succumbing to buying one when it failed anyway... I just clicked this thread, had been thinking it was the Space Gar leaderboards or something from the old CGR site. Why would I wanna show off that old nonsense?? (lol) ...most people can't even play it anymore...
I suppose they could if they looked for it but.. they won't be able to add to the boards anymore so...

Wait a minute, isn't there a ton of input lag that comes with using a controller adapter? That's not desirable at all...
Speaking of input lag and high scores, my highest score on Metal Slug 3 is just over 5 million points, which is AMAZING considering the game's high difficulty AND the fact that I was playing on an LCD TV (via Wii) with huge input delay. Sometimes I scare myself with just how fucking awesome I am at video games.

Wait a minute, isn't there a ton of input lag that comes with using a controller adapter? That's not desirable at all... Not necessarily. Believe it or not, I actually play (original) Xbox using my PS2 wireless controller, via another similar adapter. But unlike the Wii/Gamecube case, this time it works flawlessly - no lag whatsoever. It even emulates the rumble. Ho... You got proof of that?

I want to get the plat for Anthology but not sure if I can beat those games with less than 5 continues. I still need to buy that. It's awesome it comes with a Plat. I feel confident about maybe getting at least that one. I still can't bear Leon in Gradius V. He must have some kind of trick. Then again I haven't Plat Under Defeat either, so I guess I just suck and really need to work on my skills.

Y ou can get the picture to appear in its original size by copying the attachment thumb's link and using that directly as an image link. As long as you have the link, it doesn't matter what thread you initially uploaded the picture to. So does that mean image links via social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Miiverse) will suffice?

Anywhere! As long as you can get it to appear as a picture here, that's acceptable proof (of your gaming prowess). Preferrably with your recognizable forum name/initials on it next (or near) to the score. Although, what I was initially referring to was that you could image link any picture you previously uploaded to this site using its thumbnail's target address. Take your Kirby one for example. If you used the thumbnail link as an image link after you uploaded it via drag drop, it would appear like so: Let's see if this works.. What's more, you can then use it over and over as many times as you like for multiple thread topics.
I still can't bear Leon in Gradius V. He must have some kind of trick. Ho... getting close...! I better get a bit more serious and up my score some more! Here, I'll tell you the trick I use (if you could call it that). Highlight only if you don't want to try figure it out fer yerself: Hint - it's not the Konami code or any sort of cheat...
Use the Type-2 weaponary. That way you can make the lassers go round and round so nothing can escape. Don't even have to move the ship. You could also reduce the scoring requirements for extra ships (or 1-ups) so you get more lives over your game progression. Lastly, don't forget to collect the Options (Multiples) after you get taken out. Make starting your priority: Speed Up (x2) -> Multiple (x1) -> Laser -> Multiple (x3) -> Missile -> Shield -> Speed up to your personal preference -> Keep a new shield on stand by. You should be able to beat me much easier and more quickly on Ikaruga though. I'm absolutey terrible at that. So hurry up and do it! It's the pride of the Fancy Arcade Stick vs. the Regular Controller on the line!
