But on Xbox you can charge stuff while it's off if you plugged it in before you turned it off. And thanks for clearing up Imperial Khador!

No problem @baldur. If you've got a PS4, you can leave it on standby and charge your PS3 controller just fine. If the Xbox lets you charge through USB while in standby, that might also work if you connect your PS3 controllers. It doesn't actually need to be communicating with the system, in most cases, though as I said, I had to mess with the drivers for it to charge on Windows 8 or 10. I usually charge mine on my PC, since it is usually on.
The Wii U Classic Controller has the same drawback actually.

I typically don't use the Xbox for charging my controllers since they haven't got integrated batteries, but I do use that feature for charging phones and other stuff. The gripe that I have with the PS3 battery is that I don't use it that often, and when I do, I don't want to wait around for it to be charged.

I do use that feature for charging phones and other stuff. Does the 360 charges stuff while off too or just the One? I think so. I played through Lost Odyssey on my 360 recently with a controller battery pack with a USB charger. I noticed that if I plugged my USB charging cable in while the system was on, it would keep charging once the system was off. However if I tried plugging the charging cable into the system while it was already off, it would not start charging. Though I've since switched to normal rechargeable batteries for my 360 controller, as the nickel metal hydride battery only retained charge for a day or so when not plugged in. I actually noticed the same thing with Wii Remote charging packs I was using. I ended up reselling all the battery packs and just going with a few sets of Eneloop or Amazon-branded rechargeable AA's. They retain their charge for a crazy-long time. I was thinking about this the other day. Originally I considered the Xbox One's continued use of AA batteries to be a drawback, but now I'm not so sure. I like being able to just have a few sets of decent rechargables I can use in any system. That said, the base PS3 controller batteries hold their charge for quite a while, so I have no complaints about quality there. It also seems pretty easy to find double-capacity batteries for them that extend that even further. I ended up grabbing some double-capacity batteries for my PS4 controllers as well. The base batteries hold a charge when unused for a fairly long time, but they just drain too quickly for my liking when in use with the PS4. I think that light is the culprit, even on low, as I didn't have the same issue when using them with my PC, where I can disable the light. Edit: Confirmed here though it doesn't specify whether it works for other devices.

PlayStation is always behind when it comes to the operating system and network, however it always leads on hardware. So it surprises me the 360 was already ahead charging controllers while off. That's a cool feature to have.

stratogustav yeah both of them can do that, but XOne can charge whenever if it's on standby, you don't have to plug them in when it's on beforehand.

Just finished Uncharted 3 in two sittings, pretty good as all Uncharted games are. But it was definitely one step forward and two steps back compared to U2. Just find it weird how they made the combat worse and the story is just a damn rehash. It kinda made up for it in the last 3 or 4 chapters, but the pirate part of the game was completely unnecessary. That wraps up my Uncharted series playthrough for a while since I don't own a Vita or a PS4. Got to try out God of War next.

Just finished Uncharted 3 in two sittings. How many hours is two sittings? I usually spend between 30 minutes to one hour on each Uncharted chapter, so I just do one once in a while, which is why I probably haven't finished those games.

Started to play it right after my exam I had this week, so I had a lot of time on my hand. It probably took 8 hours or so.
