Finished up Final Fantasy IV 3D Remake on the PC.
I enjoyed this when it came out on the original DS, and even though this was the PC port of the Android port, it held up pretty well. Even with low-detail polygons, it's interesting to see that story with voice acting and a bit of cinematography. It is a little bit slow paced compared to the sprite versions, just due to battle/spell animation, but I still had fun playing through an old favourite.

Thanks dschult3 There are some excellent tunes in FF4. I've listened to the 'Celtic Moon' CD many times over the years, but it's always nice to hear a new cover.

My daughter just beat The Lego Movie: The Game on the Wii U. She told me to declare it to everyone, because she is quite proud of herself. My son sneered and said that all Lego games are easy. She told him to shut up, because she's in 1st grade. He laughed, so all is well.
Gaming with kids is interesting.

That's actually quite a feat. Those Lego games have puzzles that even me at age 28 when I tried them, I remember having a lot of trouble passing without YouTube.

I finished up Tales of Arise on the PS5, or at least the main story. I enjoyed it quite a lot, although I felt the third act dragged, and the combat got a bit tedious. I'll probably resurrect my 'Tales of' thread for a longer review in the next few days. I'll certainly pick up the DLC when next it is on sale

Finished up the Cat Quest III demo on the Switch.
Lots of fun! Pirate and animal themed puns galore! I'll be looking forward to the full game in August.

Finished up the 3D Remake version of Final Fantasy III on the PC
It definitely shows its age, as a 10 year old port of an 18 year old remake or a 34 year old Famicom game...but I really enjoyed it! This was the entry that introduced the ability to change character classes, which was fun. I also enjoyed the remake's characterization given to the original nameless, orphaned Onion Knights. Their individual stories are a bit bare bones, but a welcome edition.
Even moreso that the FFIV 3D remake, you can really see the path this team took from the Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light spinoff on the DS, to FFIII 3D Remake, and then to the Bravely default series. The super-deformed art-style of the Bravely Default games, and their use of class switching seem to owe a lot to this entry, and even their original deconstruction of the story of 4 warriors and 4 crystals seems to reference this specific entry a lot.
I'm glad I finally played through it after all these years.
