What do you think is the major problem then why America has so many gun related terrorist attacks vs European countries?

What do you think is the major problem then why America has so many gun related terrorist attacks vs European countries? They do? I'm not so sure about that. They definitely have more people snapping and going on sprees though. I'm actually amazed it doesn't happen more often. Where I grew up it doesn't even enter your mind to go collect weapons, you just get out of shitty situations and shitty neighborhoods not stockpile ammunition. Very few angry teenagers with access to weapons, and very few disgruntled people ready to hurt someone. of course that's all changing with radicalization now so what ultimately is the answer?

Are you asking me for an ultimate answer? I don't have one, but I can tell you it doesn't include more guns. An interesting comparison though is how gun culture is different (not thinking of how easy it is to access them, but how we handle them). In America its your right. In Norway you have to have a gun cabinet (and it has to be locked at all times other than when you retrieve it). And everyone getting one has to pass an extenisve hunting exam (a written one, similar to the theoretical part of getting a driver's license). How are your guys' rules on this?

What do you think is the major problem then why America has so many gun related terrorist attacks vs European countries? That's a leading question. If you remove the word 'gun' from your equation, it becomes clear how narrow-minded you're being. There are bad people all over the place. What weapon the bad guys use makes little difference to the victim, I'd imagine. Does Europe have fewer terror attacks than the U.S.? It doesn't seem like it to me. The number of guns in America and to our northern and southern borders would make a ban little more than writing on paper. A man like the Las Vegas shooter, a millionaire on a murderous mission, isn't going to say, Aw shucks, better live a decent life! Can't get those guns! He's already set on breaking our most serious law - murder. A gun law isn't going to stop him. Just like laws against making bombs haven't stopped terrorists in Europe. Here's a chart for your consideration: Here's the highly regarded source: link

I like how you choose to include a statistic that includes the only noteworthy terrorist attack that has ever been in Norway and not include 9/11 for you guys.

How do you explain that one, Balder? Did you see my chart above? Because I didn't see yours. Because you don't have one. And I do.

That chart includes Canada, and once again Canada brings the US down.

What do you think is the major problem then why America has so many gun related terrorist attacks vs European countries? You really have to be careful when you find terrorist attack stats in the US; firearm deaths too. One group had a stat for gun homicides, but it included the terrorists who died in the incident (as well as a cop killer who happened to get gunned down by the police after the fact). Others inflate what "terrorism" means.

Yeah that is fine, but you guys are so keen to bring up truck terrorism in France that I though it didn't matter so much. I was iust comparing the biggest terrorism act in Norway to the biggest one in the US.

I can read statistics Dan, and yours is incredibly biased, to the point where it's completely pointless and of no value.

You're more than a little scared right now, and that's understandable. If I were living in Norway, I'd be scared, too. To all of us, it's just a statistic - Norway had by far the highest death rate per million people from Mass Public Shootings from 2009 through 2015. That's a sobering fact, to be sure, but you're the one who has to live in that frightening cess pit of violence each and every day. I don't envy you. But I do worry for your safety. My advice to you is this: book the earliest flight out of Norway and don't look back. Secure your future, Balder. We're all praying for you.
