I always thought about why people claim that those of us in US live in the land of the freedom when in reality other countries have significantly happier lives, and barely consume drugs, legal or illegal. Name one. They are simply afraid because they see what happens when they don't follow the rules. Chavez stopped following the rules and look what all the problems the international restrictions are causing in Venezuela, and if you start adquiring big guns, we treat you with war, it is that simple. Chavez created his own problems with a failed ideology. Venezuela did it to themselves. They went from the richest Latin/South American countries, to having limited toilet paper (among other things, like food.) |

With Venezuela current situation, global laws with petroleum and other exported goods deals are the real cause. There is no argument, they definitely did it to themselves by not bowing to our international rules.
This is a perfect example of capricho, and that is my point. Any country that doesn't bow to our goverment to an extend suffers the same consequences.
This is why I keep saying people in other countries may have a happier life than substance addicts in US, but their governments are not free by any means. They are always subjected to our decisions.

I've moved the thread from General Gaming to General. Looking back through the pages, this discussion hasn't been about video games for a majority of the time. It's also about a pretty controversial subject. That's fine by me, but some people come to the Pub to get away from everyday life and read/write about video games. Out of respect for those people, I'm sure no one will mind the move.
What happened in Las Vegas is absolutely heartbreaking. I'm a little worried about where this discussion is heading, but I hope that everyone here can be respectful. You all know me, I won't tell any of you what you should or shouldn't say. But let's keep in mind that real people have been affected by this. Even in this small community, it's possible that one of us knew someone who was there, etc. We can disagree on everything else, but we all have to agree to show some respect for those who are gone.

France has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the world but that didn't do much for the people at the Bataclan in 2015. We don't know much about this guy but I have a feeling the guns he had were all ready illegal to obtain. But that's just details I guess. We had another shooting so I guess it's time to become another failed communist state. |
