It's sad for sure, but most of us still have to put our pants on and do whatever it is we do in a day. What's frightening is this was a guy who seems to have it put together other than maybe a gambling problem. I wonder what made him snap.

Like cobretti said, it's on everyone's mind, but life goes on for those of us lucky enough to be alive. I have to say, I'm really disappointed in how quickly this event has been politicized. As a country, we need to have a debate and a deep discussion - there's obviously a real problem - but we can't do that by stirring up racism and hate. It's really sad.

Do we even know what this guy's politics were? I'm sure we would have known by now if he was a Trump supporter or something because that's what the media would latch on to, but it seems like we still don't know anything about him. Was it even politically motivated or was it a dude going postal?

I'm not criticising specifically the US here, but having life go on so quickly after something like this is sad. The world is just so used to acts of terrorism that this stuff almost doesn't faze it.

I wouldn't say people are unfazed by it, but at some point, as cold as it sounds, life has to go on. I imagine it's much harder if you live in Vegas to carry in with your day to day. I'm on the other side of the country so it doesn't have the same impact, as sad as that sounds.

It's the only major one we've had, and it always get attention on it's "anniversary". Just like 9/11.

Americans are tough. We just keep going. But that doesn't mean we don't care. There have been candlelit vigils across the country. The lights on the Empire State Building were turned off. Flags were flown half mast. The stuff I read about that really inspires me, though, is the people who were at the scene, working to help the injured, both professional first responders and just people on the street alike. There were doctors and nurses who were in Vegas on vacation who rushed to the hospital to volunteer their help. Today there were lines of people waiting to donate blood. That's America that I love.

Was it even politically motivated or was it a dude going postal? Not that I've read. He was a 60+ year old man, apparently financially well off, had a girlfriend but otherwise kept to himself. No strong religious or political views. No military background. No criminal record or known mental health issues. It's weird as hell. I don't know if we'll ever get answers. Isis is claiming him as their own, but FBI says it's bull. It's tough to imagine that somebody could plan something like this for no reason, but we just don't know right now.

France is having those problems because of ISIS terrorists posing as refugees and smuggling weapons into France from countries in the Middle East that have active terrorist groups to supply them with weapons. If there was no war then that kind of crap wouldn't be happening in Europe. It's a totally different story in America, where our own country supplies the guns to citizens, with bare-minimum background checks, which is why it's so easy for US citizens to acquire guns. Even guns that are illegal (like the one used in this shooting, an AK-47 if I'm not mistaken) are still fairly easy to acquire for anyone with knowledge on guns since America has such a long history with gun distribution & ownership (for example, most machine guns didn't become illegal in the US until the early 80s or so), meaning that a lot of them are still out there & available on the black market.

This is awful, I hope none of you guys live anywhere near around the place - and also hope people injured and relatives of the victims receive enough help to cope with it.

So what gun laws do you think will remedy obtaining illegal guns? The only thing more gun laws will do is keep normal people people like me from getting one. If a criminal wants to get a gun, legal or otherwise, he's gonna get one.
