I've been working so I haven't gotten a chance to see anything yet. Project Scorpio was a cooler name than the Xbox One X. Still, the Switch has my award for the stupidest name for console. Nah, Switch is fine. Wii U is still the worst. XoneX is pretty bad though, especially since there's already a XoneS. Sounds way too similar. For $500 I expect a better console name experience. Both Project Scorpio and NX were better names than X and Switch.

They lost a good chance of calling it Xbox 1Up. It would more evidently be a Xbox One Upgrade while also having a somewhat fun name. Oh well. Ha- haaah... They should've hired you prof. I personally was hoping they would just stick with the Scorpio name myself. (That would've sold me... maybe cause I'm a Scorpio too... )But alas... XONEX... X1X... oh... Yah, like dschult says, the head honcho self congratulatorials are eyeball rolling fer sure. As are some of the more cringeworthy scripted stages (Battlefront II I'm looking at you)But some of them devs being genuinely passionate about their project are respectable enough. Like that 'A Way Out' fella... he was ok I thought. fsfsxii - Dewd, the Bethesda show just now was pretty kewl with their Bethesda land thing. Gotta hand it to them for being a little different in terms of style. And Wolfenstein 2 has to count for something... (Even Balder should be able to appreciate that one... )Aside from The Evil Within 2 (TEW1 being my favorite game this generation) and Wolfenstein 2, it wasn't up to snuff imo. Then again, Sony usually has the best conference.

I've finished watching MS' conference, and I can't say that anything excited me very much. Ori 2, Anthem and Cuphead looks interesting, but I won't buy them day one or anything.
Star Battlefront 2 looks cool. It's what the first remake should have been. Probably going to get this.
Wolfenstein 2 looks awesome and will nost likely be awesome.
Now what the Atari Box will be is extremely interesting. Atari lives baby!

I don't see how a console being a blu-ray player would be attractive nowadays - I don't even personally know anyone who watches their movies on blu-ray, everyone I know went straight from dvd to streaming/buying online/torrenting their movies (myself included); the rare physical movie may come in a thumbdrive, like what Mark is doing with CGR movies. I agree, however in US there are people that still like to collect movie Blu-Rays. Although if that's the selling point (a console + a Blu-Ray player) they are better off getting the One S which I imagine will be cheaper than the One X. Only a few months ago there was only one single 4K Blu-Ray player on the market. It was a Samsung for $350. I haven't checked right now, but it felt strange that there was literally no competition for it, not even from Sony. Also remember in US a lot of people get an entire console for a single game such as Halo, Madden, or whatever Call Of Duty is selling. Having a smaller console and with better graphics is a good thing. Now, just because we know some people will buy these things it doesn't mean it is going to reach PlayStation levels of success, not even close. If we weren't counting the Xbox One and the One S, the Switch would out sell the One X. Xbox definitely lost that race altogether.

Balder Did you really watch the whole thing? Isn't it like 4 hours long or something?

Balder Did you really watch the whole thing? Isn't it like 4 hours long or something? It was about 1 hour and 30 minutes. You may confuse it with the after conference discussion which also lasted about the same amount of time.

As was said earlier, there's a whole lot of back-patting in these. But I guess it makes investors feel good.

stratogustav the One X is not a new generation of consoles. It's simply the equialvalent of the PS4 Pro. The Switch is a new piece of hardware, and is not equivalent to the PS4 Pro or the Xbox One X. And last time I checked, Nintendo was way behind in sales (no surprise since Nintendo doesn't understand how to sell hardware properly).

There's some potential there. Also see the new Battlefront 2 gameplay if you haven't. It looks incredible.

Never forget who built this city. Their legacy has nothing to do with their retarded decisions. Why did they cut off one of their best product, the NES Classic? Theg basically killed their milking cow and instead of utilizing it.

Balder Why are you making up stuff? I never said the One X was a new gen system. I just think it would hardly outsell the Switch if it wasn't because they are counting the One and One S as well. I feel the company gave up competing. In order to compete they would need a very robust first party lineup of studios, so unless Microsoft buys something like Bethesda I really doubt they have a chance of becoming competitive once again. Sony could easily have the worse conference ever tonight and it won't matter, and Nintendo can literally have 2 games this year, Mario and Zelda and still win this year's sales. I really doubt the One X could sell more than the Switch.

Did you even watch MS' stuff? Because they had 22 exclusives showed off this year's conference. Ever since 2013 they have become very competitive, much more than Nintendo ever was. Nintendo has basically found their niche thing and lives under a rock now.

I will admit that the whole Atari thing has my interest piqued a bit... Tell me. I haven't seen it. It is "shrouded in mystery." So far this is the only thing that has gone public: Atari BoxSupposedly, there are some insiders at the Atari Age forum who are saying that it isn't another flash back system, but who knows. Conjecture is abound as usual.

Nintendo has basically found their niche thing and lives under a rock now. I did. Crackdown looks like a bad cartoon. Ori would put me to sleep. State Of Decaye is another zombie game. Cuphead looks cool but no one will buy a console for that game. Then everything else is not even memorable. Third party games like Assassin's Creed, Shadow Of War, Metro and the like, will sell for PlayStation too, just like always. Then there is Minecraft which kids don't mind if they get it on the phone. The only thing worth it is Forza 7 and Killer Instinct. If they want to compete they need more exclusives. Like if they also had Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake, and The Evil Within for example, then I would say yes they can compete, but those are multiplatform games. The only future I see for Xbox is PC. Once they become some sort of Steam they will be better off because the console market is definitely not looking good for then right now.
