So FOX began re-airing old episodes of X Files in commemoration of the new series, and I watched one at morning.
...
OMFG! This is hilarious! How in the world have I missed it the first time? Like, this is waaaaaaaay above what I would have expected of a comedy show, and I'm not even sure if the show specializes in comedy.

That episode last night would have been much better had it been a totally new show and not one with 10+ years of continuity it was trying to ignore. They say the mini series gets better in the latter episodes so I'll stick it out, but I was a little let down by the first one.

I had watched Jose Chung's From Outer Space. Amazing episode! I've just watched another episode, The Springfield Files, which seems to be around the same lines of storytelling.
At the exact moment I'm watching the first episode of the new season.

I didn't like the first two eps of season 10 much at all, it was nice to see new X-Files after so many years but that was about it. I just watched the third ep now. I have to admit I now have two fav eps ever, this one and the classic "Ice".

I just saw the episode with the loopy lizard man. There's always got to be a corny episode but next week, it's...the The Trash Man. That's more of the sort of thing the X Files is supposed to be made of. Am I right?

Over the last while I've been slooowly watching the series from start to finish and am currently on Season 7. Haven't gotten a chance to see the second film or the new series yet, but I've seen indications online that the third episode was excellent.

I didn't have any problem with episodes 1 and 2, they looked fine to me. But episode 3, oh boy! That episode showed that somehow those writers still have scripts hot in their brains!

Couldn't get past season 6 meself, let alone bother with these new ones...
Gillian Anderson isn't that beautiful... (reminds me a bit of an auntie of mine actually)
I'm an X-Phile, but a different kind of X-Phile...
And that rubbish actor Duchovny...
His best work was Red Shoe Diaries if you ask me.

4th new ep was okay, it reminded me more of how the old series was when it began being gross and super cereal, before it was all about aliens and the end of the world. I stopped watching the old series around that point as gross and super cereal didn't tickle my fancy. Hopefully there will be more eps like the third.

Thats usually when i stop and move on to another episode. Even though some of the alien episodes were great, some of them are just ugh, so boring. I usually like the episodes that have some scientific basis to them, even though its all sci-fi.
