Ya that whole consoles are convienent thing is not true either. All I have to do is launch the game and play. It's that easy.

Yeah, modern consoles aren't convenient at all. Hell, everytime I want to quickly play something on my 360, it decides to download some very important update that leaves me sitting there doing nothing, and the 360 isn't even that modern.
Want an example of troublesome thing in new consoles? You buy LA Noire physical for the Switch. But the game isn't entirely on the cartridge, you also have to download part of it. And then it needs an amount of extra memory that doesn't come with the console: you need to buy a MicroSD card. That's both confusing and a guarantee that your physical game won't work in the future, when Nintendo stop supporting their Switch servers.
Whoever is playing on pc nowadays knows that you don't even have to mess with game settings anymore, they are automatically adjusted to your machine (at least for nVidia cards). Seriously: for the last four years or so, I just buy a game through Steam/GOG, download it and play. When I had to replace my HDD, I just downloaded Steam again, picked on my library which games I wanted to redownload, and that was it - as Steam doesn't tie your games to your machine. If I want to play online, I just do, without having to subscribe to any additional service.
I like to have consoles along with my pc for exclusives, but sure as hell they aren't much more convenient than a pc nowadays.

The PC mustard race has almost everything you could ever want. All modern consoles can do is fight over the leftover scraps. How important those scraps are to you will determine how important console exclusivity is to you. In my opinion, I really don't feel like I'm missing much if I'm not playing the newest Sony movie game or whatever Nintendo shit came out (aside from Mario Odyssey which looks amazing). Other people are really into that stuff though and I can understand that.
Sometimes I think the ridiculous convenience and nearly all-encompassing library of the PC can be a detriment though. Personally, I think I enjoy a game more if I actually went out of my way to go out and get the physical copy. You also get more excited for up and coming games if you don't have such a large library to choose from. This sounds like a bunch of meme shit now that I'm reading it, but I do think there's value in limiting yourself so I can see the appeal of consoles in that sense.

winnersdontusedrugs -That's not a strange thought at all. Physical media has a perceived value that just puts it above digital only. That's not only for games: there are a lot of books I could just download for free (not talking about piracy: I mean public domain books), but I'll still buy a physical copy if I see it in a bookstore. For games, I could buy like 5 games on Steam for the price that I spend on a single rare-ish or new 3DS cartridge. That should have discouraged me of buying 3DS games, and yet, I still do. For some reason, that more expensive, physical game feels more valuable, even if I could play a lot more games instead of it. Just consider how we are all retrogamers here; we could just emulate most of the games we like. And yet, we keep looking for the original cartridges/cds. Let's not kid ourselves: it's not because emulation is flawed or something, it's usually perfect for most retro consoles. It's just because there's something special in getting your hands on an actual copy of an uncommon game. That's pretty much the reason why I love pc gaming, but haven't ever gone PC only: there are usually some physical games on a console that I would like to get. Sadly, as consoles abandon more and more physical media, I'm also losing my interest in them. I'll certainly not buy a console for digital only games or for whatever mess is that LA Noire release on the Switch (that unglodly mix of physical and downloadable). Edit: To be fair, not everyone has a good, convenient experience on PC: I just remembered all the unlucky problems Spirit Bomb had with his machine recently - although, to be fair, he was trying to run games from that time when DRM schemes became impossibly intrusive, so they need some heavy sorcery to run on modern systems.

I have to say barely play my Switch. I play the Wii U the most, then PS4, then PS3, then Wii, then Switch. I found a game for you.

I don't even have Peach Beach Splash yet. I'm really getting behind with these things. I told myself to not get anymore games like this until I at least finish Double Peace and Estival Versus.

For the most part, yes, console exclusivity is important. However, there are certain factors to consider. Probably the best example I can think of would be the original Xbox. A lot of people criticize this console for not having enough exclusives or having disappointing/lackluster exclusives, and many just seeing it as a "poor man's PC", but when you take into account the fact that the large majority (VERY large majority) of its games offer full local multiplayer (including splitscreen) support, with splitscreen being an awesome feature that 99% of PC games don't have, suddenly the outcome of your investment looks a hell of a lot better, as anyone who's thrown a console LAN party can testify(right Balder?). For me, it really boils down to how fun a system is to play with. Good exclusives are important, but I can have just as much fun with a system without many exclusives but with universal splicreen support for its titles instead.

Just as relevant as ever.
As a Switch owner, the system has the best advantage of any current gen system in that it is supposed to be both handheld and TV plugged as we like, and that does things to you. For example, my most played game on Switch is Fire Emblem Warriors; as some of you know it is rather repetitive, and in any other system a situation such as facing multiple low level missions serving as roadblocks means that I would turn off the game and go play something more engaging, but as it is a Switch game I can play those fodder missions anywhere in the house and pop the system in whenever a more challenging mission (a.k.a. shadow elimination) will take place. Also, after the December update in which we get to see Camilla's lingerie I'll try to play on the big screen more often.

Local multiplayer is pretty much dead nowadays. Everything is play online now. PC has lan mode and splitscreen for a ton of games more then you think because the PC library is so big and vast.
