I will finish the Metal Gear saga. You just remind me of it leaon79s. It's just that I recently got my own arcade machine, so it is really hard to dedicate time to anything else. |

I was pleased with the awards this year, we got to see Hideaki Itsuno, Hideo Kojima, and Hidetaka Miyazaki on the same stage getting awarded for their awesomeness.
Really missing Koji Igarashi, and Yu Suzuki though. I wish Shinji Mikami was still making games, and I also wish Nobuya Nakazato had a bigger budget. That would have been perfection.
It would also have been cool to see Masahiro Sakurai, but that dude is always too busy. Hideki Kamiya also deserved an award, after all the original RE2 is his game, but at least he had a nomination with Astral Chain, it sucks Scalebound was cancelled, maybe that one would have won something.
The RE7, and RE2make director Koshi Nakanishi is on a roll, he is new, but he already have shown he is on the big leagues. He got nominated, but since he is just starting out, I hope he will have more opportunities to win in the future.
Suda51 got his new No More Heroes game announced, and hopefully Bayonetta 3 will also come soon from Kamiya. The more action games the better.
By the way Ghost Of Tsushima look like the Shaolin Monks I wanted, I'm digging it.
Again though, super happy for Miyazaki, Kojima, and Itsuno. They truly deserve the recognition.
For the Fast & the Furious crew. I also stayed overnight all the time playing TEH-KEN and Street Fighter.

Anyone care about the Game Awards this year? Cyberpunk is up for RPG game of the year, for those of you that didn't know.  The neckbeards are going nuts with the rumored announcements on YouTube lately. I don't know why people hang on to these "inside sources" who are never sourced. They are wrong so often, that I don't believe any of them. |

Yeah, YouTube has been announcing them. I honestly don't know what came out this year besides the Castlevania Advance Collection, the Ninja Gaiden Trilogy, and the remake of Virtua Fighter 5.

Yesterday's presentation was a pile of garbage and extremely boring. As for the game announcements, the neckbeards were wrong...again.  It was a giant ~4 hour commercial, and I'm shocked at how little time was given to the actual award winners. 45 seconds for a Game of the Year speech? What the hell was that? The music numbers were "meh" at best, and some of the segments were way too preachy to me. I didn't think most of the award winners were shocking either, but I did find it strange that Elden Ring took "the most anticipated game of 2022" award over Breath of the Wild 2. It won that award last year, and I don't really believe it. There was quite a trailer (ahem...commercial) for it afterwards. The game looks like Lord of the Rings, and my wife and I were shouting out scenes that were ripped off directly from the movies as the trailer was playing. It does look good, but more anticipated than BotW 2? I don't know. It isn't hard to see why the big three basically avoided this year's event. It was a bloated form of the Oscars, and that is a dying award show. Why emulate something that is failing? Did anyone else attempt to watch this? I had it on in the background and made fun of it most of last night. Maybe you had a Mystery Theater 3000 type of viewing party too? |

Here's a thing. You say Andromeda is shit, and it's fine; but if you say "Androme is shit" followed by "Wolfenstein II looks good" it's kinda hard to take it seriously. There's a phenomenon called video reviews where people show you bits and pieces of a game online while discussing why it's a good or bad game. You should check it out, it helps you to stop buying bad games. There's also a phenomenon called "come to your own conclusions". Try it sometime, you stupid, arrogant asshole. I didn't read into this thread before but wow, what a dumpster fire it was. Dschult making fun of neckbeards?? As if being a skin headed, far-right, all-american military veteran is any better. I blame stupid, uninformed morons like Balder and Dschult for scaring away cool posters like Spider Shinobi. He was a cool progressive dude and I loved chatting it up with him. Hope he's doing ok. As for Gamespot's end of the year awards ceremony, they named Halo 2 as the most disappointing game of 2004, so clearly they have got some things right. Maybe not anymore, but I would aim my crosshairs elsewhere. |
