Thanks for the heads up scipioafricanus . I'll pass on some words. I know that often doesn't help when someone is in the depths of depression, but it never hurts. Brain chemistry is a funny thing. The article Derek wrote about Breath of the Wild and his depression really hit home with a friend of mine a while back.

And he might need someone to drag him by his hair to a Senior Home, Disable Veterans Group, or a Special Needs school for some volunteering. "YOU THINK YOU HAVE IT BAD! SNAP OUT OF IT AND HELP THESE PEOPLE!"

Depression. Axiety. Someone should tell him that video games can only drown it all out for so long until your sorrows learn to swim.

SNAP OUT OF IT AND HELP THESE PEOPLE!" That kind of talk might work for someone who's just been having a bad week, month, or year, but it doesn't do much good for those dealing with "major" depression. That's my experience, anyway. Everyone's different. It's easy to assume that this is related to the shutdown of Undertow, but we don't really know Derek outside of his reviews. I sure don't know what his personal life is like. I wish him all the best anyhow.

That's my experience, anyway. Everyone's different. It's easy to assume that this is related to the shutdown of Undertow, but we don't really know Derek outside of his reviews. I sure don't know what his personal life is like. I wish him all the best anyhow. Reading his timeline, talking about losing two careers in two years, I think he might be referring to undertow. But I’m old so I don’t remember things that well anymore. Depression is a motherfucker, though. I hope he finds some help or something to make things seem better. But I know from experience that you’re never too old to find something good. I found my career somewhat later than most and I’m in a good spot now. Nothing is ever hopeless, but sometimes it’s hard to see it. I hope he comes around. He seems like the kind of dude I’d like to have in my crew.

He also had a job at the Democratic party during the election.

He also had a job at the Democratic party during the election. Suddenly it all makes sense. Lost two jobs, divorce, Hillary voter (it was pointed out that she wanted and sponsored legislation to ban "violent" video games), he now has two cats. There is depression caused by chemical imbalance and just bad luck. This seems like the later.

They aren’t going to maintain an army of canvassers and phone operators in the space between presidential elections and midterms. Unless he was hoping for a permanent position in the party, which I bet only goes to well connected people.

Greens and exercise. Also avoid all processed meats and drink pure water. Stay away from oils other than olive. If you don't eat enough kale or spinach at least get some multi vitamins. Get fish oil. Get 8 hours of sleep a day. Keep your space clean and organized, get rid of all the clutter, shower, and start writing some personal goals for short and long term. That would solve depression for anybody. It is just hard to do specially if you are depressed.

I used to think so, too, but depression goes a lot deeper than a man's health habits alone. You'd be surprised. I forgot to add a healthy sex life is also important. This is why socializing is part of the deal. I had a few friends that had no direction in life, they were always anxious, kind of desperate, depressed, and particularly angry at life. They started hanging out with me, and once they started getting laid from a person they actually feel atracted to, all of the sudden all their problems seem to disappear instantaneously. They got better jobs, they started going to the gym, they got their own place, and even though they are still the same guys, they are like a more relaxed version of themselves.
