Joined him on a livestream last night (just in the chat). He seems to be doing a little better. The thing he says he appreciates the most is that even though he lost everything, his fans stuck with him and kept sending positive messages his way. Depression sounds horrible and sometimes people seem like they are stubbornly not listening to you but it was good of him to acknowledge that even though it's hard for him to see, he really does appreciate it.

It was a livestream from Twitter for him, but I think it is gone now.

Psych wards are the bane of the lower class and in my experience cause more harm than good. I remember being left destitute after my trips to psych wards many years ago. Each trip cost me nearly $10,000 WITH insurance. It's crazy. As far as I'm concerned it's as bad a place as prison. For all the trauma it causes at least prison is free (thankfully I've never been to prison though).

I have neither been to the psych ward or the joint but I would guess the joint is worse because you might get butt raped.

Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time. Prisons in the US is pretty much "Just fuck me up". So true. Our prisons are notoriously bad. I think the problem lies with how we house inmates: instead of keeping them isolated in "time out", we force them to eat, shower and exorcise together. There have been so many instances of normal (sometimes innocent or wrongly convicted) people going into prison and then coming out traumatized. The whole system ought to be changed. I also think the death penalty should be abolished.

I also think the death penalty should be abolished. Totally agree with you. I suspect the reason why our prisons work this way is the result of how little government funding the US historically has had (it's especially bad right now), and it's cheaper to just service prisoners all at once at one location than to provide service to them individually at their cells. Also, to elaborate on my opinion about the death penalty: the reason I think it should be demolished is because of wrongful executions which are always a possibility and have happened many times throughout history all over the world. Russia and Great Britain were wise to abolish the death penalty to prevent such situations and I think the US should do the same (although a few states already have).

I'm against death penalty myself too. There was a chance to get rid of it during the Trump election, but apparently people didn't vote against it. I was very surprised.
I know it is not everyone, but I dislike many of the people in my State after seeing that. I live in California, and I never thought people in this State were so inhuman.

The death penalty is inherently immoral in it self even though if it still was only used correctly. By executing someone, one is saying that taking revenge is okay. Society should use prisons to protect civilians and rehabilitate offenders, not to take revenge.

Off topic, but I thought I heard you say a while back that you live in Colorado? I have lived in many States, but never in Colorado. I have lived in: - California - Rhode Island - Texas - Utah - Virginia - Washington State - Washington D.C. I used to have an EVO X because at the time it was my dream car, and I drove it around the country. At one point I was passing through Colorado with my Rhode Island plates, and someone told me it looks like you have a long way to go. I thought that was pretty funny, but I never lived there. I have visited Las Vegas (which is Nevada) too many times to count. The first time I visited was in 2011 and I stayed there for over 3 weeks, but I don't consider that living there as I didn't have to pay rent or anything like that.
