Did you know? Blimps are safer than planes. The majority of passengers survived the hindenburg disaster, whereas plane crashes almost always have a 100% mortality rate. Balder scipioafricanus thoughts? Considering how many planes fly every day and how few of them crash, and how even fewer airplane accidents are fatal, I'll take my chances. Still, it Zeppelins were still flying today, I'd take my chances on those, too. They look like an interesting experience. Pretty slow, though. |

I've actually researched it a bit more now, and while I still believe aircraft do more good than bad for the world, I can see why people refuse to use them. Unfortunately there's no good replacement for airplanes. Since it's hard to do anything about planes at the moment, I think the world should concentrate on reducing emissions from transport methods that easily modified like transport ships and trucks. I'm a big believer in hydrogen as a future fuel as it can be used in big ships and big trucks unlike batteries, which at the moment and possibly in the future as well cannot sustain big loads such as these. There is an up and coming Norwegian company producing hydrogen, hydrogen pumps and develops other hydrogen related things that I'm actually invested in. Hopefully they'll succeed big time, and until now it looks pretty good. |

In recent news, modern aviation has taken another life. RIP kobe Bryant. Just think, if he had been in an airship accident instead of a helicopter crash, he would probably be recovering in the hospital right now. scipioafricanus I've already proven that airships are safer & greener forms of transportation than planes & helicopters, so why are you so vehemently against them? I feel like there's something you're not telling us. |
