For those of you who haven't watched the news today (or yesterday, seeing as how it's Friday morning right now), Donald Trump has officially refused to take part is the Paris Climate Change Agreement ( look here for more information about it), which is an oath regarding the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions that every nation on Earth except Nicaragua, Syria and (now) the United States has sworn to. My heart sank when I heard this, but after hearing the enormous amount of criticism directed at Trump for his actions, my faith in humanity has been restored slightly. I think it's utterly embarrassing that the United States is the only country on Earth that denies climate change. It just proves that this country is run by conservative bigots, AKA the same people who put their money ahead of the environment. Very sad.

I would say people should go hiking. If people believe there won't be any environment left for future generations. They may as well go enjoy it while it last.

Spirit Bomb If it makes you feel any better... The mechanics of the US exit are complicated. The terms of the Paris agreement prevent the United States from withdrawing from the pact for four years, which means that the final word on US participation would not come before November 2020 — around the time of the next presidential election. So nothing will change until Trump's second term.

It's been a while since we had another environment discussion. *cracks fingers I've read that the climate agreement is non-forceable so there's actually no reason for anyone to back out. Even North-Korea is still in ffs. I agree with you for once on an environment matter Spirit Bomb. This was just plain stupid. Anyways, you guys elected him.

You can tell me the most tinfoily stuff about globalists, secret psyops and Carol Channing and I'll hear you out, but how in the heck can people say there's nothing wrong with pollution/environmental destruction etc?

This is the thing I never understand: even if someone thinks humans have no effect on climate changes, this still wouldn't justify not caring a bit for the environment. I'm now imagining a climate change denier in a wasteland, with all the forests destroyed, no clean water, but saying "Hey, the climate is still the same, so I was right!"

You know your shit Cervantes. It's tragic how many people blatantly pollute without giving a shit. Global Warming aside, we should still care about having a clean environment.

For every country, they can declare their own milestones. This is nothing more than the Kellogg-Braind Pact.
