Rian Johnson should be ashamed of what he has written. If only we could thumbsdown some comments. Ah well, what else can we expect from self-indulgent children...

Attack of the Clones wasn't terrible, but it had far too many mediocre moments, like the terrible directing during the underwhelming lightsaber duel between Anakin and Count Dooku. Return of the Jedi, on the other hand, is my favorite Star Wars movie and one of my favorite films period. Sure it had at least one mediocre moment (Boba Fett's death), but it was overall FAR more exciting and well written than Clones.

If IX is as underwhelming as VIII, I'm going to consider VI as the last SW movie chronologically.

I think it's fine to consider the Clone Wars better than Return of the Jedi, they reach for different tastes. So, I watched The Last Jedi last night. It didn't suck and I was actually surprised for it! I know that Dan E. Kool thinks that as a movie TFA was fine, but I don't, and I was happy to see TLJ being a good movie; because before anything else I think that what annoys me the most about TFA is that it looks like something that didn't work out and they just went forward with it anyway, the fact that it was pretty much the first movie remade only bothers me as a fan, not as a movie goer. Still, I remain by the same statement I have about TFA and 2017: every successful (and a few unsuccessful) 2017 movie is better than both TFA and TLJ, save for the weaker stuff like the "horror" movies. But now that I've said that I enjoyed The Last Jedi I need to point out that it introduces major holes in the series. And this is a series that doesn't need more of them...SPOILERS
First for the most obvious, if a small sized mother ship can activate light speed travel to shoot itself at other ship as a bullet, how come warfare got to that point without people developing ships specifically for that? Worse, wouldn't the good guys get completely destroyed if any of the Order fleet drivers merely forgot to step on the break pads? That one is Star Trek (2009) levels of plot breaking. Now for the one that's smaller: if a magic knight person can activate a lightsaber from afar, why isn't "throwing offline lightsabers at the distance, turning them on and then spinning it around" a traditional combat skill in this universe? As for nitpicks, a lot of people thought Phasma was supposed to be more competent, but judging by TFA she was as competent as I thought she would be, but I understand if fans were annoyed that the marketing for the movies made it sound like she was more than that. What I do think that should have been better were the knights guarding Skullmageddon, because for a small group of people who guard someone who's supposed to be as high as that dude, those guys were barely more than nothing.

In fact the ending of ROTJ was so satisfying for me that I would've been totally fine without a sequel trilogy, even if it had been done well, since there was already tons of great EU content that beautifully illustrated post ROTJ events better than the Disney trilogy ever could. That another reason why I think every Star Wars fan needs to play Jedi Outcast. It's a perfect example of this. Although regarding ROTJ's ending, I must say that I strongly prefer the updated celebration theme from the special edition. Yub Nub was not an appropriate/good enough theme to end on. The new theme is so much more powerful and emotional.
