Go see it. Then come back here. Don't let me or anyone else influence your viewing.

I'm not going to spoil anything story related, but I have to say I'm extremely disappointed. So much potential wasted just to please gullible people. The humor was way off and only aimed at kids. The Force Awakens built up such a great start and the bedrock for the whole trilogy only for this movie to tear it down. I'll place this movie as the 2nd worst SW, right above R1. This didn't feel like SW at all.

Oh no! That's terrible news. I was going to go see this next week. Well, still am, I guess. I didn't even like TFA, and I know that you did. If this is even worse than that... Bummer.

I made a separate post so that you wouldn't have to see my opinion. I told you to not read it, but you still did! I wanted you to have a fair viewing. You might still like it, but if you thought Ewoks were created for kids... well you'll hate this. God damn porgs and cringy writing. I almost wish George Lucas wrote the dialogue.

I'm terrible when it comes to spoilers. I just need to know. Anyway, I'm going to see it no matter how bad it is, if only to see Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker again. Who knows? Maybe he'll even be a real part of the story this time.

Grr... The more I read about this movie, the more angry I become. There are so many plot holes and inconsistencies. Dan if you're reading this just stop okay? Don't read anything more.
In an interview Mark Hamill stated that he was fundamentally against every decision Rian Johnson had in mind for Luke Skywalker, but he still tried his best to fulfill Johnson's vision. It's just so fucking sad. Star Wars has moved on from my generation I guess.

What I did like however, was the scoring and Benicio Del Toro. Both were spot on!

I watched it! I was invited at the last minute and couldn't pass it up. Maybe it was because Balder set my expectations so low, or maybe it was because I was invited and therefore didn't have to pay for my own ticket, but... I actually liked this one. A lot more than the two that came before it. I'd recommend it.

BalderBy writing you mean the dialogue? As you already mentioned, the music was great. God bless John Williams. Nothing as innovative as the prequel scores, but solid nonetheless. I really enjoyed the opening scene with the bomb attack run. But I'm also a sucker for those heroic self-sacrifice things. I can only imagine that Rian Johnson is, too. There's an awful lot of that happening in this movie... The movie does reference back to Empire in a couple ways with Luke being the Yoda figure this time and then the obvious salt-Hoth with salt-ATATs , but it didn't feel like a total remake like TFA did. It feels like it tries to "rhyme" more as Lucas did with the prequels and I prefer that. The things I liked the most, though, were: Major spoilers!! Much more Luke Skywalker, who actually gets to fight again,
An awesome appearance by Yoda,
and Leia didn't die. There were plenty of headscratchers though, don't get me wrong. The whole movie was basically a long, slow chase scene , it felt like they totally dropped the ball when it came to Snoke , I was glad when Leia didn't die but the way it happened was really weird to say the least.

The casino part was incredibly bad. Such a bore, no consequences and it felt like something completely else.

The interesting thing about films these days is you can tell whether or not they're dogshit by the trailer. That never used to be the case. Based on the way the franchise is trending and the trailer this film is probably dog shit.
Eventually I'll watch it to confirm its dog-shittiness. But it is not this day.
