I watched The Troubles with Tribbles and this episode is kind of a big deal in the Star Trek community I guess. Usually there are 4-5 episodes per Blu-Ray disc, but this episode had a whole disc for just itself along with a commentary track, the animated show episode featuring Tribbles and a Deep Space Nine episode with Tribbles. I think this episode was a lot of fun, especially the bar fight scene with the Klingons. What are your thoughts on it scipioafricanus ? Probably one of the shows I would use to show someone who has never seen Star Trek and is only open for one or two episodes.
Deep Space Nine did a good throw back to this episode.
Yes, this would be an excellent episode to introduce someone to Star Trek. Others that would also be great is Journey to Babel and The Galileo Seven.

Finished off season 2 and there were a lot of okay/good episodes, but none that I felt worth discussing except for The Ultimate Computer. That episode was pretty good and a fun commentary on the automation of society. It also expanded on the technology lore, which is always welcome.

I watched the Star Trek episode of Black Mirror and it is very disturbing. Only if you analyze it though. At face value it is just ordinary entertainment. I just don't like how these shows target your subconscious mind, and make it look like nothing.
Sometimes it is better to put a little thought into it so you can just dismiss it as whatever. From an entertainment point of view is definitely just solid, and cheesyness is present too, but as a concept it can get ugly if you start relating things with spiritual possibilities.

That episode of Black Mirror is pure gold. I love how they start as the Original series look and ends with the J.J. reboot looks. I think it's the second best episode of the whole show, right below Nosedive.

I've watched a bit of season 3 now and The Enterprise Incident was a really good episode. I love the throwback to the Romulans and there were lots of great small moments here like Spock and Kirk tricking the Romulans. Usually it's the Federation who's on the defensive, but here they're actually doing offensive missions, and I liked that angle quite a bit.
As for And The Children Shall Lead... Yikes. This is perhaps the worst episode of the show. Just terrible all around. I hate when child actors are used in this way. It made no sense.

I'm almoet halfway through season 3, and so far it has been kind of uneven. There are sime great ones like The Tholian Web, but Plato's Children is one of the worst episodes in the series, just embarrassing. The series is still fantastic though.

I'm done with my exams for this semester and I'm on a roll to finish this show. There aren't that many notable episodes in the middle of S3 since most of them vary from meh to alright. The special effects are improving over time though. Whom Gods Destroy was good though, felt like classic S1 material.

I watched the Requiem for Methuselah and this could have been a great episode if it wasn't for the fact that Kirk acts way out of character. He almost fails his team over an android woman. Other than that it was great. Pretty cool story that this immortal man have been so many historical figures. Reminded me a lot about the movie Man from Earth.

I can't remember, have you seen any of the movies Balder? Nah. Prior to this I hadn't watched anything Star Trek, but I'll watch all of the movies in time.

The Savage Curtain was pretty decent I think despite it's okay score on IMDb. I thought the cast of historical characters introduced in some sort of fight to the death between good and evil was a lot of fun. I love how they include both fictional futuristic characters such as Colonel Green and real historical characters such as Abraham Lincoln. I love when they're expanding the lore of the past that is between the 60's and the 2200's. I hope we get to see some more of those characters in a future episode of another show. Only 2 episodes left now, 3 if counting the pilot episode which I might watch after completing the show.

Finished watching the series and it's kind of sad no longer having this series to watch. I also have the animated series and the films to watch next though, and then there's The Next Generation so there's plenty to watch, but still. I think this is an incredible show with so many awesome and original ideas. There's really not to match it, Star Trek was there first to give us all of these rad science fiction concepts, characters and storylines. The execution of these ideas are not always perfect, but a lot of the charm is the low budget. It has lots of charm and spirit where it counts, and it's the characters of the show that makes it work. Kirk, Spock, McCoy and Scott are so terrific and you can really tell they had a good time making this show together. Some of my favorite episodes are The Troubles with Tribbles, Arena, Galileo Seven, Journey to Babel, The Devil in the Dark and Mirror, Mirror. The last episode of the show isn't that great, but the second last episode is a good one that focuses on the three core characters.

I can't remember, have you seen any of the movies Balder ? I'm not a Trekkie, but I did catch the reboot movie and, as I recall, I seemed to have liked it. Do you like the reboot?
