Every time I say to myself, "I'm just going to finish this task, save, and quit," I end up saying, "What's over there?" Then I repeat what I said earlier.
Of course, nothing quite creeped me out like the first time the blood moon rose.

Eh, Xenoblade was the same way, and that game is 7 years old.

Yeah, the game definitely borrow ideas from Skyrim, but the amount of things that are new to not just the series, but the open world genre in general are completely revolutionary, and like dschult3 said, those are strictly Monolith Soft (not to confuse with Middle-Earth's Monolith), and Nintendo EPD solely responsibility. Those changes are bringing the genre to heights never dreamed before, the only time I've seen this kind of jump is when Super Mario 64 was introduced, and when I tried VR for the first time. This level of game design has never been seen in the industry before, not even by Nintendo. Like I said in another post, my brother got Horizon which is a great game too, that just came out like a week before, and it already feels outdated when you compare it to Breath Of The Wild. So basically Zelda is making a massive AAA big budget Sony first party exclusive game that just came out running on Decima engine, obsolete. That is insane. No one saw this coming. Nintendo really took us by surprise this time.

The other way is that this is the first major Zelda title to be released since that time.

I now refuse to ever play this game. It has come to light that it enforces the patriarchy that has plagued gaming and the world for like... a long time. I implore all of you to stop any playthroughs, and reflect on what you have been participating in.

The fact that she hasn't been shot yet after all the bushit she has spoken through out the years is what it is really surprising.

What type of person makes a career out of yelling about Zelda (besides that weirdo in the original NES commercial)? Probably has 50 cousins that walk around in wife beaters at the family picnic forcing her to sing the girl parts in Steal My Sunshine. p-p-p-peahats!

Gonna put some thoughts here if anyone is curious what I thought of it. Not gonna do a review, covering everything in the game will be too much work. Great experience all around and I was tempted to give a 10/10 but I did have some annoyances that brought it down a little. Combat was great, and it's my favorite open world to explore by far and the dungeons and shrines really have some clever puzzles(some that took me way longer to solve than I feel they should have lol). The things that I thought might bother me like the framerate and the weapon durability weren't much of a problem. Some puzzles require platforming or motion controls though, both of which I didn't feel control very well. Jumping with the glider sometimes didn't respond. And the difficulty felt a bit uneven and random even in the same areas. Pretty small problems overall along some other stuff like meh voice acting and a not so great draw distance but enough to knock the score down a little for me. I am not a huge 3D Zelda nut though, so me loving this one even if I don't like it's perfect I think Nintendo got it right. Hopefully they build off this formula and improve on it, I can see it turning into a 10/10. (spent around 70 hours I think, didn't see a timer) 9/10

Nice review Pimpjira, that unbalance in difficulty and puzzles difficulty are the things in particular I like because even though the game doesn't try to be realistic, that sudden change does give it a little bit of it, but not too much to the point that it loses the magic of being a video game. The wearing of weapons reminds me of the Souls games, not many people are a fan of that or stamina, but again those are another few things that give the game a little bit of realism without losing the game feel. I haven't experience problems with the glider or the frame rates but I have the Wii U version. The motion puzzles are fun to me, but those I understand can be annoying to others not familiar with Nintendo stuff. I'm not as fond of Zelda as people may think. I love Ocarina Of Time, when I got that game 100% I felt so accomplished, and it took me like a whole month as I didn't know English or have online guides. The hardest thing to figure out was that arrow you have to shoot in the morning to the sun. I didn't understand the text, but the drawing and the two pillars gave me a hint and eventually I figured it out. I'm going to reveal I haven't tell anybody, but I haven't beat Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword. I own all those games and obviously I liked what I play of them, but just like with most non arcade games, it is always hard for me to finish games that don't fit on the arcades. This is the first time I feel compelled to finish a Zelda game since Ocarina Of Time. So it is very exciting for me, even 100% as well. Well, I did finish Hyrule Warriors, but I don't know if that counts. There is nothing I would really change to the game, the level of interactivity is one I have never seem in any other open world. It borrows ideas from Skyrim, but it goes further to reinvent the idea that in this game, unlike any other game, everything is connected and that for the first time you can interact with everything. I really do hope other IPs catch up to these ideas. Red Dead Redemption 2 is on the horizon and I can't imagine how fun a game like that will be if you can hide behind every rock in a shooting, be able to go everywhere, and use your environment in the most MacGyver way. I also think Zelda Breath Of The Wild is the closest thing we ever got to a Rambo game, I never felt more Rambo than by looking through the binoculars trying to plan an attack on a camp.

I have a lot of fun doing that. There is nothing funnier (or shocking) when you mess up, or another massive enemy shows up out of nowhere...

You should try Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
