So, a week or so into the game and I've just been enjoying running around and exploring enough that I haven't even bothered with any of dungeons. I'm told there are four, same as Wind Waker, but Breath of the Wild just seems so much more packed with things to do. I definitely think I'm going to keep a slow pace with this one and enjoy it for a while. I might still be playing it at Christmas.
The only real complaint I have so far is a few of the gyroscope-controlled puzzles are pretty awkward, particularly if trying to do them in handheld mode. Still, it is a pretty minor wrinkle in what so far seems to be a stellar game.

You should try Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. Yeah, I will try it eventually, the only thing that prevents me from completing the saga is that I have a very hard time getting motivated by one to one stealth combat, unless I'm doing it from afar like a sniper I simply prefer just straight up let them see me and attack face to face. I had been doing that a lot on Shadow Of Mordor, and the game has become much better that way. In fact Zelda has a lot of stealth opportunities, and unless I'm doing the Silent Scope thing, or some kind of cover base shooting where my enemies still know where I am, I always go around to let them see me first, this is why I never got into Assassin's Creed despide how good the lore of those games is. I still will finish the saga though, and who knows, after doing all that, maybe I may start liking stealth altogether, which is a good thing because many games are like that.

Still, it is a pretty minor wrinkle in what so far seems to be a stellar game. Have you freed any of them yet? The special abilities you get are awesome. I'd recommend getting at least one or two of them out of the way before you get the Master's Sword. I'm not really upset by the "frame rate issues" (as every review on You Tube claims to have seen). I'm not having any. What annoys me is the awkward handling of the controls in enclosed environments. I'm trying to do something for the Gerudo Town (no spoilers), and the damn controls piss me off whenever I hit the joysticks. I don't like the fact that newer systems use the joystick as a button. Oh, I'm just going to sneak over here and run really quick. Oh wait...nevermind. I'm just going to crawl instead. Maybe I'll look through the periscope? Ugh... Outside of that annoyance, I'm really loving the game, though. My kids and my wife watch me as I'm going through the various shrines. They love to offer suggestions, and it is quite the team effort when a puzzle is solved. Whenever the DLC is available, I am going to get it. I am having so much fun with this game.

I take it you mean feed any of the divine beasts? Not as of yet.
I did notice with the Joy Cons, I had the issue of accidentally crouching a lot, particularly in combat, or going into scope-mode. I haven't noticed the issue yet with the pro controller, and I think that is due to the stick-buttons having more resistance than on the Joy Cons.

dschult3 from what I've heard, slow down issues are only the Switch, not on Wii U. Maybe that's why?

The Wii U still seems to have minor frame rate issues, but in different places than the Switch. Switch running in portable mode seems to be the only way to avoid them completely, but I don't find they detract from the game at all. Only place I find them particularly noticeable is when there's a lot of tall grass waving about.

dschult3 from what I've heard, slow down issues are only the Switch, not on Wii U. Maybe that's why? I had my first issue with the frame rate, and that was when I attacked an enemy strong point in the north western point of the map with a ton of monsters. I used bomb arrows to blow up their explosives, and it rained body parts. It slowed down only briefly. Perhaps that wasn't a frame rate issue, but instead it was a slow motion victory celebration? All it needed was Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" playing in the background and the smell of napalm to make it just a tad bit more satisfying.

Ravali's gale is worth it when you're stuck on a mountain, and it is pouring rain. The others seem to be...nice. I only have 3 right now, and I am aiming for Death Mountain next.

Well, I just conquered the 120th shrine. I think I may just take some time to upgrade all of my equipment, before I take on Gannon. I don't want this game to end.

Well, I just beat it. The game is awesome. I wish Nintendo would give us an opportunity to play after the final boss is defeated. I'd like to see a war with the Yiga clan. I wonder what the DLC will be like...

Very nice! I'm still plodding along an hour here and there as I've been utterly sucked into Persona 5 for now.
