dschult3, I guess I'll have to get through XBC2 and Torna this year I'm interested in 3. I know 2 connects to 1, but indirectly, so hearing 3 will tie more directly to both makes me happy. Some of those locations definitely looked like they were on Bionis, and unless the hair was a misdirect, that sure looked like a sinister, masked Meila. Lots of good stuff in there. I've had good luck with Musou spinoffs lately, for Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is a likely buy. This HD-2D remaster of Live a Live also looked pretty sweet. Downloaded the new Triangle Strategy demo, and I'll sink into that soon. I've been kind of amused at people's negative reactions to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC announcement over Mario Kart 9, since the DLC is likely to run until the end of 2023. I had absolutely wanted them to continue doing DLC tracks with the Switch version after the DLC for the Wii U original worked out so well, and the price is pretty reasonable.

dschult3 , I guess I'll have to get through XBC2 and Torna this year I'm interested in 3. I know 2 connects to 1, but indirectly, so hearing 3 will tie more directly to both makes me happy. Some of those locations definitely looked like they were on Bionis, and unless the hair was a misdirect, that sure looked like a sinister, masked Meila. Spoiler Easter Eggs: I heard Nia (My son even noticed her core crystal from XBC 2. I was proud of his astute awareness of the video!) and Vandam's voice from XBC 2 and the masked woman's voice has to be Tyrea, Melia's sister from XBC 1. The title shot is a combination of the Monodo and a Titan from 1 and 2. I am not 100% sure, but I believe the narrator is Adam Howden, Shulk, Zanza, and the Architect's voice. My son and I even noticed that the Gormotti girl has a flesh eater core crystal. Needless to say, but I'm really excited about how they connect the stories.
XBC2 does directly connect to 1, but you don't find out until later in the game. Since you've played 1, you will have a "NO WAY!" moment when it is all connected.
I really hope X is tied into 3 somehow.

They moved up the release date for Xenoblade 3 to July 29th. I wonder if that was in response to the delay of BotW 2. I don't know, but it sure has made me happy.

I don't see Breath Of The Wild 2 on the foreseeable future, but it is too early to say. December always has some surprises when it comes to Nintendo. I'm still waiting on Metroid Prime 4 since they switched developers a few years back and gave it to the proper people at Retro Studios. The other studios that were working on it before clearly didn't have a clue of what they were doing, and that's why the project had to start all over from the beginning. The people at Retro, based in Austin Texas, that makes the new Donkey Kong Country games made the original trilogy, and they made the first two Turok games. The IP is in good hands with Retro, but because of the pandemic and the international crisis of inflation and war, many things are still on hold.

Once again, this was a Direct that some people loved, and some people hated. I was in the middle, really. I'm happy that Tunic will be making its way to the Switch. That game has been on my radar for a while.
Octopath Traveler II was quite the surprise. I'll be playing that one for sure.
GoldenEye is going to be on the Nintendo 64 online app. I still have my original copy, but I think it will be cool to play it online. There's a few more games that will be released too.
Of course, everyone is extremely excited about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. I'm glad there is a release date now, but I wish they showed a bit more.
The Direct was a mixed bag for me. There were a TON of farm simulators and RPGs. Square-Enix was a heavy influencer too. I like it, but others were wishing for more Zelda and Metroid news.

I know I can play GoldenEye on the emulator, but that GoldenEye drop got me goosebumps either way. Hopefully an online feature for it. Nice to see Radiant Silvergun getting some love too, and the new Zelda we already know everyone is going to buy it. It's basically the Majora's Mask of the Switch. I'm also amazed with all the RPGs announcements, I wonder how many people are buying RPGs because these many announcements means that they are selling, which makes sense for handhelds, even bringing PS1 RPG classics like Front Mission back. I really laughed when they started the Bayonetta 3 announcement with "after 500 years...". Because we have this inside joke that everything that takes a lot of time to happen we always say 500 years, so this was really funny.

I found Wednesday's Direct to be rather good. We got Zelda news, a Metroid Prime Remaster drop, RPGs up the wazoo, and Gameboy games!
It was a bit odd that there wasn't any talk about the Final Fantasy Pixel remakes (which have been announced already), and there was very little talk about Octopath Traveler 2, which comes out in 2 weeks. Maybe that will be discussed in an upcoming Direct Mini? I also had a feeling that there would be a Mario announcement of sorts, since the movie is coming out this spring.
I, of course, was super excited about Shulk, Mega Giga Chad Rex, and Alvis in volume 4 of the Xenoblade 3 DLC. I hate waiting through 1-3 to get to the good stuff, but I suppose it will be worth the wait. Supposedly, it will culminate with the conclusion of Klaus' story.

Nintendo just stealth dropped this Xenoblade 3 DLC trailer.
Apparently, the game is around the size of Torna, so it will be an additional 30 hours of game play at the least. This wasn't supposed to release until Christmas of this year! I'm quite excited, since it would seem that they are going to conclude the story of Klaus with the combination of Rex and Shulk's story's conclusion.
Top this off with Tears of the Kingdom and the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters being released in the next two months, I'm going to have plenty to play.

That was a cool Nintendo Direct today. I watched it with my kids, and they were excited too. There were a lot of games announced today. All of us were excited for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. My son and I loved the graphical style of the Link's Awakening remake, so this looks to be great. Metroid Prime 4 is finally coming, and the hype is real. The Dragon Quest 2D-HD remakes look fantastic. The DKC Wii game was a bit of a surprise, but it is welcome. I wanted to like that game, but I hated the unnecessary Wii mote controls. I'm not interested in the new Super Mario Party game. The Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection looks like a lot of fun. I was really surprised at the announcement of Looney Tunes: The Wacky World of Sports. It reminds me of the arcadey sports games of the past. The remake of Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven looks fantastic! I was also a bit surprised to see that Stray is being ported over to the Switch. I've heard good things about it, so we may just pick it up. Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu's Fantasian: Neo Dimension will be released as well. I love both of their work so much, that I'm automatically in. Apparently it was released in parts on the Apple Arcade, but I don't game there, so I didn't know much about it.
Anything you all are interested in?

Because I'm a huge fan of 3D I feel those 3DS games are more enjoyable on the New 3DS XL than the Switch, but the Switch is such a solid system, that if that's the only way to play them for someone, then that's still super solid because those are all fun games.
Finally some news for Metroid Prime 4, it really took a long time to hear anything about that game, and I believe it's the original people behind it, the ones from Turok that also was announced alongside Perfect Dark. I'm actually jealous of those that have the wireless N64 controller to play those games.
Of course the biggest announcement for me was the Marvel Fighting Collection from Capcom, which has some of my favorite games of all time in a single package.
Many other games look cool like the Looney Tunes game, and also Mario Party never gets old for me. I'm a big fan of Nintendo's Sports games, so the update for Basketball looks fun, and that Disney Illusion game looks cool too, I didn't know it was out.
I'm not an RPG guy, but I'm happy for those people that love Dragon Quest and will play the first three games remakes. It was nice they showed the dev, he looks old but still kicking. Sadly Toriyama is gone now.
Echoes Of Wisdom looks like a nice announcement too. It is very rare to have a Zelda game that is actually about Zelda and not about Link.
