Anyone else exited for Berserk? That's kewl... Didn't know there was a follow up of Bersek coming up. Watched the 13 episode OVA about 12 or so years ago, which was left depressingly hanging... Thanks for the heads up. As for anime, I love the U.C. Gundam stuff. You like UC Gundam Balder ... What's your favorite series?

Most of the anime I see in the stores is aimed at teenagers. I have a hard time looking for stuff I can really be interested in.
I do like Lupin III (they made a live action of that!) and Ghost in the Shell. They made a new series of that too and I hope I get it one day.

leaon79s Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam is perfect. After watching 0079, Zeta blew me away with the new animation. The characters are the best in the series (they have most of the cast from 0079 + a brand new one). And of course the mobile suits... Hyaku Shiki, Zeta Gundam, Mk II and plenty of other awesome ones.

Guilion - So, is Space Dandy really cool? I love Cowboy Bebop - it is, in fact, my favourite anime ever. But man, I was completely disappointed by the first episode of Space Dandy, so I haven't watched the rest of the series. You convinced me to give it a second chance - I didn't know it was directed by Shinichiro Watanabe (I also really like Samurai Champloo). Well, if you like Bebop I think the easier way to describe Space Dandy would be a "What if" scenario where the cowboy that appears in one of the last episodes would get his own show. I'd recommend you watch Episode 5 and decide whether or not the anime is worth watching (The order in which you watch the episodes doesn't matter anyways, except the last couple from season 2) If that one doesn't convince you jump to episode 9, although the show is pretty much a comedy episode 9 shows that it can manage serious no-fun-allowed episodes too.

You know, I actually find it hard to recommend Black Lagoon based on other tastes inside animation, because the only other thing I find similar to it is The Expendables, specially since the opening for one of the movies is an inversion of the opening in Black Lagoon. That's doesn't mean I wouldn't recommend it, though, it's highly recommended! Specially if you like pirates. Btw, Revy should be drinking cheaper rum to save a little bit. I remember the other day I went to the market and I ended up skipping Bacardi in favor of Montilla for obvious reasons. And Berserk! The story that spawned Dragon's Dogma!... Oh man! I'm not excited right now, but if the actual animation turns out to be like that I'll definitely be into it. Btw, help me stop crying as I show you guys one anime that's bound to be all kinds of awesome: Fuck you, GUMI!GuilionI like anime, but because so much stuff we get to know isn't... well... good, I end up not commenting much on them.

Anime shows I watched when I was a kid:
- Knights Of The Zodiac (Saint Seiya) - Dragon Ball - Dragon Ball Z - Ranma 1/2 (boobies on live TV in the afternoon was mind blowing) - Sailor Moon (I know but I can't deny it) - Dragon League - Samurai X - Samurai Warriors
I was too old for Pokemon, Digimon, or InuYasha, but we all know they became very popular afterwards.
Old re-runs I also watched as a kid:
- Ulysses 31 - Mazinger Z - Candy Candy - Heidi - Speed Racer
As a teenager:
- Neon Genesis Evangelion - La Blue Girl - Magic Woman M - Adventure Kid - Twin Angels - Venus 5 - Demon Beast Invasion - Midnight Panther - Teacher's Pet - Urotsukidoji
As an adult:
- Knights Of Sidonia - The 7 Deadly Sins - Attack On Titan - Sekirei - Heaven's Lost Property - Rosario Plus Vampire - Ikki Tousen - Queen's Blade - Freezing - Variable Geo - Variable Geo Neo - Dragon Ball GT
Now that I think about it, that's about all the Anime I had been exposed to in my entire life, it feels odd because by looking at the list it doesn't look like much, but somehow it feels like it was a lot.
On my wish list to watch are:
- Dragon Ball Super - Demon King Daimao - Samurai Girls - Sailor Moon Crystal

The characters are the best in the series (they have most of the cast from 0079 + a brand new one). And of course the mobile suits... Hyaku Shiki, Zeta Gundam, Mk II and plenty of other awesome ones. Yeah, Z Gundam is universally accepted as the best. If you haven't seen beyond Z Gundam yet, you might not have to bother with ZZ Gundam, as it's supposedly the worst (no Char or Amuro). Go straight for Char's Counterattack to get the end story of Amuro Ray & Char Aznable. The true Gundam (by original creator Yoshiyuki Tomino) was from 1979-1988: Mobile Suit Gundam (UC 0079) -> Z Gundam (UC 0087-0088) -> Char's Counterattack (UC 0093) All the series that came after that is just filler and milking of the franchise's success established by those three productions. I personally like 0080 though, which is a side story - but it's my favorite and imo the best, even if it wasn't by Tomino. 0083 is quite good too... After that the only one I like of the alternate universes is Seed... Can't stand Wing (yaoi boys), G is a poor excuse for robot Dragon Ball Z, X & Age were nonsense, and Turn A was just plain boring... 00 Was Ok I guess, but doesn't make much sense as a prequel to 0079 (if it is one...) - But they went the Alien route at the end which wasn't very Gundamy... Haven't seen Unicorn or been following Iron Blooded Orphans. Maybe getting too old for that stuff I think...

I made it through the first half of the season and then the series redeemed itself( in a way). Char's Counterattack was really great! Stardust Memory was good, but War In The Pocket was truly fantastic. Victory Gundam was fun and F-91 sucked. Haven't watched the others though.

Oh, so you have seen quite a few... Maybe we could start a Gundam thread! Yeah, ZZ got slightly better towards the latter parts supposedly because Tomino came back to direct it... but not in time to completely redeem it. The characters and setting was silly to begin with, and the absence of Char and Amuro really didn't help. It was evidently the kids' show of Gundam shows just riding the waves of Z Gundam's success... Seed is kinda kewl because it sort of retells the original story but with an interesting twist, where Amuro & Kamille (Kira & Athrun) were friends on opposing sides, and with Char (Rau Le Creuset) as a crazy madman... Then with the introduction of Shin (Judau?) later with Destiny. There's a new OVA about Char Aznable's back story which I've been meaning to watch though. Looks quite interesting. Supposedly it ties 0079 in with Unicorn...

leaon79s yeah Origins looks really awesome, unfortunately they split the series into 4 parts where each part last 80 minutes and cost 100 bucks a piece... It's outrageous.

I'm not too familiar with the new Gundam series, Iron-Blooded Orphans I believe it is called. Is it any good?

Crap, I missed he discussion of Cowboy Bebop. Love that show. It's been said a million times, but everything in that show is just so well done. Especially the music.
I guess I'll have to check out Space Dandy too.

I see you mentioned Speed Racer stratogustav I watched that a ton as a kid. I didn't realize it was an anime (I thought it was an american cartoon) but now that you mention it it's so obvious. I haven't seen that show in years, I'm totally gonna watch an episode or two now.
